I called for help with a front door lock, for a client of mine (Seattle). Bjorn let me know that he'd be happy to help, although it'd take a bit for him to get to our location. I appreciated the heads up and since we needed help sooner than that, he also offered a locksmith recommendation that he had confidence in, one that'd be honest and not rip us off. We tried contacting them but they were closed for the day, given it was later in the evening already.
A guy that mentioned his company as "Speedy" and going by Daniel Melech, was who we went with. He ended up ripping us off, drilling out the lock, claiming he didn't have the proper replacement lock, then increasing the price from $250-$300, to $700. His quote originally was $150 to pick it, then the above range to replace the lock if needed, along with providing two sets of keys. He never tried picking it and then kept stating that he was locksmith and he was hired to open the door, not replace the lock. He threatened to leave the job with a drilled out lock, both to me and the homeowner. To be clear, this was a random company, supposedly "Speedy," NOT Maple Leaf.
Bjorn was helpful even though the job and our schedules didn't match up. Although we got screwed over by another company, it's good to see that Maple Leaf operates differently, as that experience with the other company was frustrating, and simply sad to see that some people rip others off in any way they can.
Thanks Bjorn for your help, your honesty, and for operating in the way that you do. I'll certainly keep your services in mind for other clients and colleagues at Keller Williams...
Read moreI'm super impressed with the service I got from Maple Leaf Locksmith.
A few weeks ago, in the middle of a Saturday, I inadvertently left my house keys in the car and proceeded to close the garage door and lock myself out. I have high-end Medeco locks all over my house and garage, and after calling at least 10 different locksmiths, none were willing to help other than to drill one of my $300 deadbolts. That would have cost me a new $300 deadbolt, the installation of said deadbolt, and the locksmith service fee, a sum totaling over $500 dollars. Most of the other locksmiths had estimated wait times between two and ten hours.
I called Maple Leaf Locksmith, and Bjorn not only showed up immediately, but went to great lengths to help me get to my spare key, thus avoiding having to drill any deadbolt. He was extremely persistent and determined, and in the end got me back into my house with no additional costs incurred, and no damage to my house! The whole while, Bjorn was incredibly polite, patient, friendly, and cooperative.
Instead of $500+, I paid the cost of a routine visit and got exceptional service.
I could not ask for a...
Read moreThe patio door where I live was broken and I did not know this because my landlady never mentioned it. I came home from work last week to find the door slightly open and unable to lock. This caused me quite a bit of anxiety for a few days because I thought someone had broken in. I called the maple leaf lock smith and he responded right away. I texted him photos of what the door looked like and he sent me a quote. He also told me to try and fix the lock myself to see if I couldn't save myself $100. Turns out the door handle was not broken but the mortis lock which I was able to buy at home for $12 and fixed it after watching two youtube videos. It is rare to find people who put ethics before profits but this locksmith is one of those few. I cannot recommend him enough! I hope to never need locksmith services ever again but if I ever do, he will be...
