Would give 0 stars if I could.
My partner and I live in the neighborhood and he needed a really basic cut/fade. Rudy's was super close, had decent enough reviews and in business for awhile now. What could go wrong? (Writing this after having given them a second shot.)
First cut: Stylist "Alexis S." nipped his neck twice and left him with an inconsistent uneven fade on both sides. We paid, still left a tip and decided that would be the last time.
When you receive your receipt by email, you're prompted to leave feedback on your experience. Expecting an automated response if any response at all, I left a short and honest opinion about the first and would be last visit. Ended up receiving an email from shop manager "Cort" about 2 weeks later regarding the experience. Stating Rudy's "can do better," he informed us that if it any time (up to 7 days) you're unsatisfied with a cut, you can pop in to any shop and have a stylist fix it free of charge. However since he had replied to the feedback we left after the 7 days, he offered a complimentary cut card to be used at any Rudy's. I thought this was kinda cool and showed they might actually care about your business so we decided might as well give them a shot.
Second cut: Today, 7/28/21 my partner booked another appointment at the same Location on Pine, this time with a "John S." To say the very least... this hair cut was actually much better than the first one he received from Alexis S.
Not sure what's going on here. I just know we won't be going back.
The picture here is from the most recent and absolute last visit. Speaks for itself and says volumes about this place's "stylists." (Went in with a full head of grown out ear/neck length hair both times. How does it even turn...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked in advance for a same-day haircut where the website stated a wash and blow-dry was supposed to be included with my appointment. I was given a white hair cape that was still totally riddled with someone elseās leftover hair trimming. I wouldnāt have noticed if it was a black cape- but if youāre gonna re-use a white cape, at least try to brush off the previous appointmentās hair shavings. The level 6 stylist I got booked with proceeded to only dry-trim my hair for about 10-15 minutes, and attempted to conclude my $70 appointment without even offering the wash & blow-dry that should have been included, as was stated in the online description when I initially booked the appointment. I brought it up anyway after he asked, āIs there anything else I can do for you?ā But he proceeded to give the bare-minimum effort to my booked service. He blow-dried my chest-length long hair with a fine-toothed barberās comb or with his bare fingers, instead of with a paddle or rounded hair brush at minimum to prevent frizz. Never once was a brush used on my hair at this place. I know Rudyās is traditionally a mensā barbershop, but I thought using their website to book a ālong haircutā appointment whose description stated that a shampoo/conditioner/ blow-dry was included was going to be at least a little satisfactory- aka would include a non-frizzy blow-dry. I am severely disappointed that I was almost rushed out after 15 minutes of a dry-trim for a booked appointment that was supposed to include more. Donāt include the wash and blow-dry as part of the described booking if your stylist is going to attempt to cut corners like that. I see now that this skimped part of booked services have been an ongoing issue for the last...
Ā Ā Ā Read more02/05/2023: I made an online appointment for 2:45 pm. However, I accidentally went to their other location on Pike Street. When I arrived, they had to rebook my appointment for an hour later because I was five minutes late, which is understandable because I booked a buzzcut which is limited to fifteen minutes.
When I arrived for my appointment, the barber asked what I wanted and I told him a zero on the sides and a little off the top and I mentioned a buzzcut. However, he gave a regular haircut with a shampoo and conditioning. This took way too long. I only wanted a very quick haircut. The sides mattered more than the top.
I mentioned to the barber about my auto accident and not being able to sit very long due to the pain. The beginning of my haircut was great but then the sciatica pain started. This haircut should've only taken 10-15 minutes, like it has at other barbershops, in Phoenix; before I moved to Seattle.
Lastly, either the shampoo or conditioner caused a bad allergic reaction, because my scalp is very itchy and bright red.
The other barber may have rebooked my appointment as a regular haircut. Although, this should've been rectified when I mentioned buzzcut. As a result, I was charged $39 rather than $22. If there was a discrepancy, the barber -- who rebooked my appointment -- should've mentioned. Also, the barber said he only comes into work if he makes at least $300. What do I care?
It's better support a small barbershop rather than a corporation. The interaction is better and you are supporting the...
