Well, I debated writing a review because the owner did try to make it right but not until after he tried making an excuse for his extremely rude employee working out front. I am writing good and bad reviews from all of my experience in Seattle this weekend. His person out front asked me and my daughter if we wanted to try a slice of peach. I very kindly said no and tried to keep walking. The reason I said no was not because I didn’t want the peach, I actually did. But he dropped the slice on the ground, picked it up. And without changing his gloves. Slices another slice and asked me again saying they are delicious and then dropped that slice on the ground and picked it up. But for some reason my mind was telling me not to because although he had gloves on I just thought there could be germs from him cutting them in his hands and handing them to other people. Anyways he asked again, and I kindly said no again. And as I tried to continue walking he asked my daughter and I where we were from so I said Oregon with a smile on my face. I couldn’t believe what he said next. “Oh figures, you all are the same” and then shoed me along. That really struck me wrong so I went back, I waited for a good 5 minutes to speak with the owner while he was helping another customer. While I was waiting, the same guy that was rude to me saw us and hollers at the owner laughing saying “there are people here to complain about me!” So, wow! I guess I should have said is this how people are in Washington? He’s representing well! Anyways, the owner tried to make an excuse for him saying after 5 people turning you down for tasting I was the one for him to take his frustration out on. As if I should be more forgiving...🤔🤔🤔I would never have someone working for me that talked to customers that way no matter what. And then he talked to the owner the same way! Must be his son. Because I don’t think any smart business owner would put up with their employees yelling across the produce saying “there’s someone here waiting to complain about something!” The owner was very kind to me after I think processing what I was legitimately complaining about. He offered to give me some produce right then or to come back and see him next time we were there. I politely declined. But it was nice of him to come around and say he would take care of it. I would say that their produce does look amazing. We eat fresh organic produce at home and I also was a hardcore mushroom picker back In The day. So it was cool to see 5 types of mushrooms he was selling that I used to pick, up in Sisters, OR. Oh Waite that’s in Oregon. Where some of your mushrooms probably...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I visited Sosio's at Pike's Place Market on a trip to Seattle over New Year's and were planning to go back and buy some grapes we tried to take back to our hotel and home to Georgia, but we didn't want to walk around holding them. We were told they could ship them back home, but we were hoping to snack on them during our trip and were going to just go back after looking around. Long story short, after getting sidetracked seeing a Shepard Fairey in the wild and trying to get a better view of it, we got lost and never made it back. We kept talking about how much we regretted not buying the grapes and were like, "We should have just ordered them and had them ship them to us." Well, me being me finds a photo I took with the name of the market in there and looks them up and it's surely them! I reached out on Facebook thinking maybe if they ship items you buy in store, I could order over the phone or something and have them shipped to me. Additionally, I was hoping someone would have an idea as to what grape I was talking about. I kid you not, the person who responded to my message knew exactly which variant of grape it was and what other options were in season coming up as additional recommendations (if you like this, you'll like this one coming soon!) They also did let me know that I could place an order over the phone and they could ship it to us. Anyway, I will be making an order with them come payday and cannot wait to get these grapes to surprise my boyfriend. You cannot make up this level of customer service. Their produce was beautiful, fresh, absolutely delicious, their staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and if it's the same people answering their messages on Facebook or someone else, they're great, too. I cannot recommend them enough. I had to pass their website along on Facebook to let my local friends know that they could order this amazing produce from the west coast to be shipped anywhere! If you are ever in Seattle, be sure to...
Read more*High Priority *Public Service Announcement Calling out Sosio’s Fruit & Produce for terrible and rude customer service. I was there today on my off-work day, Monday, October 7th at around 3:50 PM. I was met with terrible customer service the moment I stood in front of their stand. It wasn’t very busy at the time. There was a male worker with long past the shoulders sandy blonde hair, wearing a hat, 6’7+ height. I want to be as specific as possible to give folks a heads-up and stay clear. Yes- Am calling you out, for purposely ignoring me when I needed assistance. You were so engrossed with only assisting and talking with patrons who were, Caucasian. How are you going to look past me when I was next? This may be your MO because no one called you out for bad behavior until now. I read another review and I noticed this business is a repeat of bad and shady behavior. Which begs many questions. It would be disappointing if this is a practice your business condones and outwardly supports especially in a city so diverse and rich in culture. Let me remind you, that this sacred land you walk on and grow your produce is of Suquamish and Duwamish people. My experience ended on a positive note, the woman on the opposite side of the same vendor graciously assisted me. I was able to get my produce and fruit. She was an absolute rock star. I did not get her name but she saved the day from being a complete disaster. My one and only star goes to her. Hopefully, others will have a better experience. As for me, I will take my money elsewhere and support the small business community of Pike Place Market in other ways. Shop at this particular vendor at...
