I came back to Ugly Baby & La Ru since I was in the are visiting with two friends and we were having lunch nearby. One of my friends urged us all to stop by this cute little art shop nearby, and it didn't dawn on my until we arrived that she meant this place (or I would have shared my story.
In any case, I was willing to give them benefit of doubt since everyone can have an off day. Wrong decision. Not only were we completely ignored by the same person as last time, one of my friends asked about prices on something and got an extremely hostile, "Well, what does it say is the price."
To which I replied to my friend, "It says nothing because it's missing a price sticker or sign, so it must be free. I'm sorry you have to even waste your time asking someone who has twice proven to be a completely pretentious 'art snob'." (I have a Ph.D in art history and I've never felt the need to be so rude to anyone patronizing at art store, gallery or even a class."
I promptly left and my stunned friends followed. I hope the counter twit heard me. In my life, I've never encountered someone who consistently proves to be such a snob to customers, and I doubt seriously she would have recognized me since my last visit (I am about 15 lbs lighter, changed hair color and style and was wearing boots that make me much taller. Read moreUgly Baby is a fun cool gift store, but I wanted to write a special thanks to Tambre who works at Ugly Baby. My husband and I had a bad luck that our car battery died and couldn't start. We desperately needed our phones to use APP to contact our insurance company for road service, but our phones also magically died. We walked around the Pike Place up and down for almost an hour trying to find an Iphone cable/charger in all kinds of stores. Surprisingly it seemed that none of them had any Iphone cable/charger. It is very frustrating to realize that nobody wanted to help us out...until I walked into this store called Ugly Baby which I honestly didn't pay any attention to the name of. Tambre was at the store, and she was very kind to offer her phone cable to charge my phone. The store closes at 5pm but it was definitely after 5pm when my phone still was not charged enough to use APP or make phone calls. Tambre kept letting us relax and not to worry about late hours for her. We were finally able to charge the phone and successfully contacted road side service. Tambre saved our car by kindly, patiently waiting after the store close time. I can never forget Tambre's help...
