It was an unforgettable tour! Captain Andrew was very flexible with the agenda and was willing to go anywhere we wanted. We started going after a sea otter eating an octopus (you don't see that every day, right?). Than we saw a trio of orcas and went after them. Orcas did not disappoint. They were having a little snack break and we had enough time to watch them being pretty close to the action scene. After watching orcas we went to the Aialik Bay to see the glacier and spent some time there listening to the powerful sounds of glacier cracking and watching bits and pieces of the glacier falling in to water.. Magical scenery! As I said, being an a small boat allowed us to be as flexible with the schedule as we wanted. We saw sea birds (puffins are awesome!), sea lions, fantastic shore features. Expeditions Northwest is a gem of a find for wildlife tours! As an avid traveler, I've been on many tours, but this small, local-owned company really stands out. Captain Andrew took us on a spectacular and highly personalized tour of the Kenai Fjords National Park. Witnessing humpbacks bubble-net feeding and listening to them communicate on the hydrophone was a highlight, and Andrew's expertise and passion for whales added so much depth to the experience.

The intimate nature of the tour was a big plus. Unlike the larger tour boats, we were able to get up close and personal with the wildlife. Andrew's attention to detail and commitment to providing a top-notch experience really shone through. Plus, his skills as a photographer are impressive, and the pro-level photos he provided were a fantastic keepsake.
