I want to give this place a 5 star, review. I really do. Unfortunately, I have been a bit bummed out the last 2 times that I went there for a bite.

Pros: It has an awesome environment. The shop connected to it has lots of neat things available, there is a really nice outside area out back and big garage style doors to make everything really open in the summers, the food is delicious and there are some creative dishes, and finally it has some appetizing specials that come up.

Cons: For me, the biggest drawback is the lack of a website outside of Facebook. Menu photos say “Breakfast served till[sic] 3pm” but when I went with my family, I was informed that breakfast ended at 11:00am. I love to browse the menu and plan on what I want to order before going to places when possible and I got my hopes up showing up a little before 11:30am only to be told that they no longer had breakfast. That would’ve been alright, but we were then told to go upstairs to the restaurant seating area to order food to-go, which was different from my prior experience. We opted to go for the last remaining spam masubis, which were tasty, but we were hoping to get more. Other than that, it’s pretty pricey, even by Seward standards. Although tasty, it’s a bit of a splurge to eat (from) there since their entrees average around $18 give or take. Also, the parking is a bit cramped/sparse.

Overall, I like this place a lot. I want to love it, but I’ve been let down a few too many times by the lack of clear information (website/menu/hours) and the high cost. It is a cool environment and you’re paying for the atmosphere, staff, and uniqueness of the dishes, however, it does have the potential to improve with a few tweaks. All in all, worth...

Bought food somewhere else. Went there to shop at store. Seen menu and decided to order off their menu if we can drink and if I can eat what I got from a bakery. Server said yes cause we was ordering from there and eating outside. While there the rainbow haired manager kept giving my daughter a side eye. We ate and before leaving used the bathroom before our drive back to anchorage. The manager took it upon herself to question my daughter when I wasn’t with her about bringing in outside food. My daughter told her it was ok’ed by staff and then rainbow bright took it upon herself to validate this in front of my daughter. After I got out of the bathroom my daughter was upset. She said she will tell me after we left. I listened in the car and marched back inside. Rainbow bright took it upon herself to side eye my daughter who only drank an outside peach tea with permission from staff. I ate a couple short ribs and a bite of rice before eating my order f there. Never once did she come up to me or us while drinking our tea. She waited till I was no longer near my daughter and well after eating there. I told her she was very rude. We are paying customers and had permission. She had no right to talk down to my daughter and upset her the way she did. Much less come at her well after the fact and have a full on investigation. I used to look forward to coming here. I spent a lot prior in the shop every time coming here and for dinner with drinks. But I’ll be damned if I ever go back. Messing with people’s kids is a no no. Especially when that child did...

We arrived to this restaurant at 2:30pm according to the time on my messages and were kicked out after an 1 hr 15 min as im posting this around 3:55pm.

Our first server was excellent! Kind and talkative and making sure everything was lovely. We were enjoying some quiet family time with drinks and food as the place was rather empty. Waiting for the train that was arriving shortly around 4ish.

Our first server was cut from the staff and we were replaced with a different server as we had finished our food and still sipping on root beer.

after only 1hr and 15min we were asked if we were waiting for the train and we said yes! as to which the server responded passively “we don’t really do that here”

oh! weird? considering it is right on top of train station… we left immediately.

we had an 80$ tab for a brewery within 1hr and 15 min so ig that was not enough even though others were only sipping on beers and we had ordered the crab dip and halibut sandwich, 3 root beers, diet coke, and beer… we were leaving at 4 regardless but i did not think we were loitering… crazy.

the halibut sandwich was delicious, the diet coke and root beer was flat. Crab dip was ok. But would not come back as that ruined the vibe.

while we were leaving the capacity was only 25% full. I understand that some people probably do try to stay there for several hours waiting for the train but we really had not been there long. And if the place was busy and people had been waiting for tables but there was a significant amount of...

Tidewater Tap House is a locally owned gem in the heart of Seward, run by a young and energetic crew that brings great vibes and even better food and drinks. Owned and operated by a passionate local woman named Al, this spot blends community spirit with a rotating selection of craft beers and a creative food menu. We tried a flight that included their blonde ale, white ale, Russian River Razz, and a grapefruit sour—all crisp, well-balanced, and refreshingly unique. The beer selection alone is worth the visit, with something for every palate. The food was just as impressive. We ordered: • Deep Blue Sea Mussels in a rich curry sauce – bold, aromatic, and perfect for dipping. • Seward Cheesesteak with French Dip – a hearty, flavorful twist on the classic. • Asian Fusion Salad with Kimchi – fresh, tangy, and perfectly spiced. • Lettuce Cups Deep Blue with ahi tuna poke – light, refreshing, and beautifully prepared. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully crafted—clearly made with care. Parking can be a bit limited during peak times, but there’s street parking all around the building if you’re patient. Whether you’re just passing through Seward or looking for a new local favorite, Tidewater Tap House is well worth the stop. Great beer, fantastic food, and welcoming service—what more could you ask for?

Stopped by for a quick breakfast while waiting for a party coming in on the morning train from Anchorage. It's literally right next door to the train station, so was very convenient. When you walk inside, there's café seating downstairs where you order your drinks at the register and grab a table. There's also full-service dining upstairs if you're ordering a meal. I had a few hours, so went upstairs for full service. On the way up, look at the drink menu downstairs as those will be your options. Ordered the Alaska Smoked Toast and Mer-Babe for breakfast, then actually came back for lunch after the train arrived. Lunch menu had few different items, so ordered the Moose Bomb Musabi and Halibut Sandwich. The breakfast items were good, I liked how light the Alaska Smoked Toast was. I really enjoyed the lunch menu items, especially the Moose Bomb Musabi. It was a nice twist on a classic Spam Musubi. The Halibut sandwich was also very good as it was a very thick cut of fish topped with an Aioli sauce in between a Brioche Bun. Overall, service was prompt and friendly. Both breakfast and lunch items were good with a slight preference for the lunch. Conveniently located as soon as you drive into Seward or right next to the train station.

Stoney Creek BrewHouse is a small, independent operation run by a one-man team, Greg, who served 20+ years in the Coast Guard. Located in Seward, this brewery takes full advantage of its surroundings, using glacier-fed water and solar energy to craft its beers. The result is a lineup of crisp IPAs, farmhouse Belgians, and smooth West Coast lagers that reflect the rugged Alaskan landscape. For our visit, we headed to the Tidewater Taphouse, which for our purposes, serves as the Stoney Creek taproom. The cozy space has a warm, nautical vibe, with wooden details that make you feel like you’re aboard an old ship. Unfortunately we didn’t sample the food this time, we were just there for beer. Tidehacker IPA stood out as a classic West Coast IPA, with notes of grapefruit and pine—a proper homage to the style. In addition to the beer, Stoney Creek offers some great non-alcoholic options, including lingonberry ginger, raspberry rosehip, and root beer sodas, all brewed in-house. It’s clear that care and attention go into every beverage here, whether it’s beer or soda. Stoney Creek BrewHouse beers are a must try here in Seward. Visiting Tidewater for lunch, dinner, or just beers is a solid plan that you wont regret.
