Solvang was meant to be a memorable trip for my 26 yrs old son and I since we first visited when he was 7 yrs old.
I had one very unpleasant experience at this honey store. The sales clerk was incredibly pushy and made me feel very uncomfortable. While I was browsing, they approached me several times and rudely commented on my appearance, saying I had sagging dark circles and needed their products to fix it. I came in to buy honey, not to be insulted and pressured into buying unnecessary skincare products.
We should have left but wanted to keep having a great time because all of the other stores were welcoming. My son bought some honey for me and was shocked to pay $36 for a 12 oz bottle of honey from the Bee & Co. but didn't mention anything since he didn't want to spoil our trip.
Driving home, all I could think about was that the honey sales lady herself had dry, wrinkly, sagging eyes. I should have told her that her cream wasn't working!! This behavior is unacceptable and I will not be returning. If you value respectful customer service, avoid this place.

Read moreSo, I’m sad to be giving this place just 3 stars compared to everyone’s else’s reviews but, here we are. I came into this shop with my husband and children and the woman at the front door was perfect. We had a quick and funny exchange and all things were good there. The shop itself was lovely with tons of unique products and we did, in fact, buy something. My problem is that after we entered the store, there were a few other employees and not a single one spoke to us. I saw them socializing or scrolling through their phones but definitely not checking in with us. I’ve worked retail for, what seems like, ages and it’s just not how I was trained to receive customers. Long story short, the store is a 5 but my rating is based on customer service and the only reason it earned a 3 was due to the sweetheart of a...
Read moreI went into the store with my friend and we were not welcomed at all and the staff was just siting there talking (didn’t know what they were saying since it was in a language other than English). We continued to look around and it wasn’t until about 5-10 minutes of us being there that they said hi. And prior to that they saw us come in. The store feels empty and unwelcoming when I walked in.
We looked around at their products and they wanted to charge over $50 for a peace of honey comb CRAZY! All of their stuff was ridiculously over priced they had mugs that were $25!!!!
Now I’m a local and understand how Solvang is often over priced but that store with their unattentive staff and over priced items was very sad and a bad shopping experience. I...
