We got our wedding cake through Solvang Bakery and it was so delicious and just what we wanted. We were unsure what flavors we were wanting ahead of time, but knew we just wanted a simple, small cake for the two of us for the cake cutting and saving. Melissa met with us to go over designs and flavors – brought us four different huge slices of cake to sample….we were eating them for days after. Which was amazing. She was very helpful in narrowing down our preferences and helping us come up with the exact cake we wanted. We couldn’t decide between two of the delicious ganache fillings, so we used both! We went with a semi-naked, rustic chocolate cake with buttercream frosting on the outside and a peanut butter ganache filling for one layer and dark chocolate ganache for the other. We only had one small slice on the night of our wedding, and then we cut the remaining cake into 12 pieces to freeze and eat throughout the year – one slice for each month of our first year of marriage. It was so easy to work with them to arrange pickup and we loved using a local bakery so close to our venue. None of the other Solvang bakeries make it like Solvang bakery does. It's soft and tender with a nice thick frosting. They were sold out that day so we had to special order it.
