Beware Customers Solvang Antiques sells counterfeit/fake items

I walked into their store and selected 2 beautiful watches that I wanted to purchase. One was a vintage Breitling Chronograph. They were selling this as an all original authentic Breitling watch. I was excited to make the purchase but wanted some second opinions so I took the details of the worker there and asked for pictures via email. Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with a vintage Breitling expert that very weekend who told me that the watch was a fake/counterfeit and I should report the business immediately. Needless to say this saved me thousands of dollars. I contacted the employees immediately and knowing that I had proof from an expert they had to acknowledge that the watch was a fake . Their justification for the incident was that the watch was acquired a few years ago and they thought it was authentic at the time. Well, with that line of reasoning everything in their store has about a 50-50 chance of being authentic. I believe they expect their customers to do heavy due diligence with a domain expert before purchasing any of their items. So if you are a customer at the store make sure to do so if you don’t want to get scammed out of your money.

P.S: For the second watch that I liked. On closer examination I found out that the chrono functions weren’t working. I wouldn’t be surprised if that...

Solvang Antiques is a first rate antiques store, none better. This store is by far my favorite store in Solvang and one of the best antique stores I have ever visited. We have always been treated very fairly and honestly by all of the employees. Each time we visit we seem to purchase a nice piece of jewelry for my wife. With antiques the selection is always changing and that is what makes it interesting for us. This store has a wide variety of antiques ranging from jewelry to very large clocks and some furniture. All merchandise is first rate, no junk in this store. It is refreshing to see an antique store with so much nice merchandise. Each time we visit Southern California going to Solvang and then to visit this store is a must do for us. My only "complaint" is that this store is not located closer to our home in Beaverton Oregon. This place is a rip off. I bought a music box but wanted pachebel in canon d. They had the FULL or almost FULL version in another music box. They said they would switch out the music from one box to another. THEY DID NOT DO THIS. I have just a couple of seconds of the song going over and over again. The reason I wanted this song is that I walked down the aisle to this song and I told them this. Unfortunately we were back in San Diego before I found out.
