I will never, ever again purchase a piece of furniture from this company. My husband and I bought the Paxton sectional and chair and a half from this location 3 years ago, thinking we were investing in pieces that would last. We were wrong. This is what all the fabric on our couch and chair looks like. It pils, is ripping, and is worn to the point where we have to put blankets over the cushions to protect them. We have taken great care of our furniture and thereās no reason for this. Please be warned that with BASIC use of your furniture, this is what it will look like after a couple years. But thatās not the only problem.
In addition to purchasing our furniture at La-Z-Boy, we also purchased a general furniture warranty and a pet warranty that covers pretty much any kind of damage caused by a pet. In June, our puppy chewed the arm of the couch and an arm of the chair. What La-Z-Boy doesnāt tell you is that their warranties come from a third-party company called ServeCo. We submitted all the required paperwork and photos when sending in our warranty claim to have the pieces fixed, and I have spent months calling this company trying to find out the status of our claim. At one point, they somehow lost everything we sent them and we had to start the process over. Today, a technician was supposed to come over to fix the arms. My husband took a day off of work to be here. The technician walked in, said he didnāt have enough time to do the job, and said the warranty company ordered all the wrong parts anyway, so he left after 5 minutes. Here we are, mid-November, without a single solution in sight and two busted pieces of furniture we spent thousands of dollars on.
I considered submitting a claim about the cheap fabric they use as seen in the photo, but after my experience with the pet warranty, it will probably take at least a year to get a solution for that, in which case, weāll be almost out of warranty by then.
This furniture is not cheap, but itās cheaply made with cheap materials. We previously had a La-Z-Boy couch that lasted more than 15 years with kids and pets, so we decided to get our new set of furniture here again since the couch we had held up so well. The quality has gone so far downhill. I would expect couches from Value City to look like this. Your money will be better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOver the years I've found shopping for furniture is a hit-or-miss affair when it comes the sales people. Has to be a challenging job and often it just seems the person is not up to those challenges. It takes a combination off skills to do it well.
Yesterday I visited the La-Z-Boy store nearby and was assisted by Mary. Mary is a young woman who had been (I learned later) with the store only since the beginning of this year. What she lacked in experience she deftly made up with her attitude: positive, professional, and as helpful as can be. I told her what I was looking for and she was able to zero on on the prime targets quickly, explaining why as we went along. As I wasn't ready to buy during my visit, Mary made sure to document everything and send me home with enough information to continue the decision-making process there.
Later that day via telephone I got to meet Mary's boss, Jessica. She was a total pro and exceptionally helpful--like Mary. We ended up going back and forth on a couple of issues (how she put up with me, I'm not entirely sure) and there was one issue with the store's policy I was struggling to accept and all the while she calmly and patiently explained why it was the way it was. She did her utmost to accommodate me and put together something that would work for both of us.
After a couple of additional calls we worked something out. We managed to do that and I was very pleased. Wouldn't have happened without her, either.
So, bottom line, I'd go back there and work with either lady again in a nanosecond, and I suggest you give them a try. Life's WAY too short for bad (or even mediocre) sales people. They were great. The items were great, and all worked out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to La-Z-Boy in Strongsville to purchase a recliner because I knew their recliners are the best in the industry. David Miller assisted me in locating a perfect one. David recommended free home decorator services and I accepted. Brandy Ehrenschneider, a very congenial and knowledgeable designer, came to my home and we discussed many different options. I decided to redo the entire room and selected a neutral couch and 2 plaid recliners. I was changing my bay window from existing Hunter Douglas silk blinds and a valance to Plantation shutters. I had the color of the paint changed to a khaki color to match the new furniture. Brandy suggested a layout of the furniture and also suggested a lighter console under my large TV, an accent rug under a new coffee table, an end table and lamp and wall hangings. She put together a beautiful design of my room and the newly suggested furnishings and accessories - on the computer and printed off copies for me. I purchased the couch and two recliners. Everything was on sale at 30 percent off and of high quality. Brandy is a non- pressure designer with terrific ideas and suggestions. Her services were very helpful to me and complimentary. I highly suggest that buyers take advantage of this service because Brandy is very knowledgeable and experienced. David Miller, too, was very kind and helpful. He allowed me to roam through the store on my own until I was ready to ask questions from him. Both representatives made my shopping easy and relaxing. I look forward to the delivery of my new furniture and to enjoy it...
