Kelly B. — Local services in Town of East Hampton

My boyfriend and I came in this store while on vacation looking for some cute and unique clothing. Instead, we were met with the rude store owner. For backstory, The Kelly B store does not carry many XL sizes. I was looking at a shirt that I loved, but it unfortunately did not come in an XL. I took a picture of it to see if I could find it on the company’s website online in a larger size, and the owner said “we prefer you take no pictures.” That was fine and I stopped, but then she goes on to say “Yea we don’t appreciate people coming into the store and taking pictures of tags to see if they can find the clothing cheaper online”. What?? I then explained we were looking for a larger size, since it was not on the rack, and she says “oh I can find you an XL,” proceeds to look for five seconds, then says “we don’t have that in an XL, large is the biggest size.”

We then said we were not looking for the clothes cheaper, we were just looking for a larger size online since the store doesn’t have it. And then she just kept going on and on about how she doesn’t like people finding her clothes for cheaper online (which, okay, you just admitted that you UPCHARGE your clothing, lolol). She also went on to say how small businesses are under attack, which I totally get, and that’s why we were out SUPPORTING small businesses. We literally were buying clothes from small businesses all weekend.

Just very distasteful that she had the assumption we could not afford the clothing there and we were looking for cheaper options elsewhere, when in reality we were just searching for a different size since their store does not cater to larger people clearly. I’m so sick of store owners taking a look at a larger person in a sweatshirt and just assuming they can’t afford the prices of the store. Very humiliating, aggravating, and upsetting. Will not be...

probably some of the most unwelcoming and rude staff i have ever encountered. i have been coming to mtk for 18 years and never met an owner here with manners as bad as the owner of kelly b. no one greeted us when we came in (other customers as well), and didn’t acknowledge us at all while we were in the store. the only time i heard the owner say something was to the other worker when she had her stand over me while i was checking out rings (ig so i dont steal a $25 ring that will tarnish). everything is overpriced and clear it is purchased elsewhere just with prices jacked up. you can probably find everything in here on shein honestly. anyways there are much better small businesses and boutiques around that you wont feel guilty for entering into in montauk that you...

Shoppers Beware!!!! Thought I should share my experience!!!! I've been a loyal Kelly B customer for years during our annual Montauk retreat, but this time was awful! Bought an$125 jacket and came back less than 24 hours later with receipt and bag to exchange it for something else (and buy more items) ---was told "NO ABSOLUTELY NOT"

The no return/exchange policy is hidden on a tiny sign, not even on receipt,and not mentioned at check out! Terrible customer service and zero flexibility!
