Was there for the first time a couple weeks ago and planned on returning to get more things for the scrapbook im working on but i will be going elsewhere due to one rude employee!! When i was checking out my 2 year old daughter had grabbed a stuffed animal off the shelf and was looking at it while i paid. The cashier asked if i was buying it i told her "no i will have her put it down as soon as we are done." a minute later after paying i asked my daughter if she could hand the item to the cashier because we would not be buying it. She hesitated and didnt want to because shes 2 years old and thats how they are. I told her to do it again and at the same time was putting my debit card in my purse. If she had not handed it to her by the time i was finished i would have took it from her myself but for some reason the cashier decided she should get involved she leaned over the counter grabs the back of the cart pulls it closer to the counter and just rips the stuffed animal out of my daughters hands. This is absolutely inappropriate. I was handling the situation and she was aware of that and had no reason to interfere especially when it involves putting her hands anywhere near my child. There wasnt a line behind me. It had only been about a minute since i asked my daughter to hand it over so this wasnt going on for a long amount of time for her to get annoyed. My two year old was definitely not trying to steal it!! So i cant come up with any reason why she might think this was an ok thing to do. Next time we will just go...
Read moreWe were able to eventually get what we went in for. We went in for some of the peanut butter candy melts that were on sale. The website said that the store had quite a few packages left. We found the "home" spot for the candy melts. There was only one package there. We went to ring it out. I noticed a "sale" display of some of the candy melts across from the cashier. It didn't have the peanut butter variety that we were looking for, though. So, I asked the cashier if there were any other sale displays of candy melts in the store. She directed me to an area of the store that appeared to be set up just for "sale" items. This is where we found most of the peanut butter candy melts that the website said this store had. If it wasn't for my inquisitiveness & the knowledgeable cashier, we would have...
Read moreThe store itself has a wide variety of products that are organized in a very aesthetically pleasing display.
However, I was most impressed with the service. I attempted to use a gift card that ended up having issues. Natalie, the cashier assisting me, held my items without judgement as I called the company outside.
When I came back in with the unfortunate news that the card was unusable and I could only buy some of what I originally intended, Natalie offered to put whatever I couldn’t buy back on the shelves and gave me privacy while I sorted through my items.
What could have been a very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation turned into a reminder of why Michael’s is my favorite craft store. Natalie is a shining example of excellent customer service.
Definitely visit and patronize...
