Express — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Let me start off on a positive and say the store has been renovated beautifully and I was anticipating a great shopping experience, this is what the 2 stars are for. I went in to return a few items and decided to tackle that before i shopped. I know working in customer service we tend to see a lot of questionable things, but there’s a way to handle situations. The girl at the register was very rude and unapproachable. I proceeded with taking out my items for return (all unworn and with tags.) She seemed to already have a chip on her shoulder. She picked up the first item (which I didn’t even try on) looked at me and asked me if I wore the clothes. I told her no and she looked at me and with an attitude asked me if I’m sure! I firmly said no and kept silent throughout the rest of the transaction. I’m not a confrontational person, but her behavior was completely unwarranted and very disrespectful. Her behavior turned me off and I decided not to buy anything from this location. As I was exiting the store I decided to speak to a manager because her behavior really bothered me. I addressed the situation with him and he was apologetic. I don’t know if he spoke to her about it, but I sure hope he did. I love express and have been a customer for years, but with employees like her I wouldn’t want to give them a penny...

I bought a shirt from express in Woodbury mall however the cashier forgot to take off the alarm. It was hard to notice the alarm because it blend with the dress shirt. Hence, I went to the express on Roosevelt field mall and ask the employee if he can take it off for me. I politely showed my receipt, the manager (I didn’t get her name however she seems like she has an Asian background) comes forth as tells me she’s unable to assist me because the store did not have the machine. I came home and did my research and notice that she lied. Those machines are universal, I also spotted the machine right behind the employee assisting me. However, in order to avoid a confrontation decided to leave. The manager from this store is inadequate of performing her duty as a manager. I used a 40$ birthday reward to purchase a pair of shoes. The next day I wanted to exchange it for a different style and the cashier told me if I do an exchange, I will loose the reward and have to pay for a reward. I asked if there’s anything she can do about it because it’s a 10$ difference I have to pay and it’s a birthday reward so I don’t want to loose it. She asked the manager and the manager said that’s their policy and she can’t control the rewards system and then walked away.
