MAC Cosmetics — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I've been using MAC cosmetics for about ten years now. I decided to go back yesterday because I had just about reached the bottom of my blushes. On the way over I thought about asking if they have a foundation that would cover the "sun spots" that have been popping up the last few years (my present foundation was just not covering them). When I arrived Andrea approached me to see if she could help. She was AWESOME.

----When I first started using MAC I was intimidated that I would be pushed to purchase things I didn't want, but thankfully that never happened. Andrea was no different. She got my blush refills (I actually named the three different blushes and asked her to let me know if these shades were still good for my skin. She said "Oh, I know those shades and they absolutely are still good for your coloring!") I then discussed my "sun spot" issue; she listened, looked carefully at my skin (after asking me if it was normal, dry, oily, or combination) and applied a foundation with a brush that was a PERFECT color match and covered my sun spots. At no time did she push me to buy anything extra. Thank you, MAC and special...

Visited MAC to find some lipsticks that I intended to give to a couple of teachers that I coach who are always commenting on my lip color choices. Even though Christmas was only a week away, the store wasn't busy and so it was the ideal time for Sam ( the lovely associate who helped me) and I to be intentional about the items I was choosing.

I expressed the purpose of the purchase and gave her some insight into each of the recipients and shared how I wanted to choose shades with names that matched their temperaments or roles. For an one educator whose son is both autistic and has Down syndrome we chose Heroine - a beautiful shade of purple, her favorite color. For another whose tech obsessed we chose a deep shade of purple called Cyber. For another who has a big personality we chose " Flat out fabulous" and another who always leave work late we chose " werk werk werk".

Sam, thank you for taking the time to reply lean into what I needed and for being so patient while we found the ideal gifts. Your expertise is valued and your kindness made a difference....

So July 14 2017 I got my makeup done by Gabriella Glacken and she did a superb job. So I decided to book with her to do my face for for my wedding Aug 25 2017 to which she said was viable for her. I have reached out to Ms. Glacken via text 3 times and 1 time via voice leaving a message no response over the course of a month. I am now one week away and still no contact. After I left a truthful review on the Macy's website I now begin to receive text messages from Ms. Glacken stating she was "told" I have been trying to reach her ?! I chose not to respond. It would have been decent to at least to reach out and say if she was not interested in going forward or some explanation. This is very unprofessional and discourteous. Because this location is so close to the venue I decided to return and try to set an appointment and they are all booked for that evening which was expected because of the type of business. I would never recommend anyone to book any type of appointment...
