Marshalls — Local services in Town of North Elba

Probably the best selection (literally bursting at the seams with clothes/items) Marshall's I have ever been in. However, most employees only care about going home rather than serving their customers. From 45 minutes before closing, they start announcing the time at 5 MINUTE INTERVALS, close the fitting rooms at 30 prior, and start making the 'rounds' of the store herding the customers out and annoyingly reminding them of the time before closing. This is a tourist town, have some leniency! I totally understand that people shopping past closing time is wrong, but your store should wait a little closer to closing time to start the closing process. What doesn't help is the fact that the store is usually empty on weeknights, causing the employees to view the few or only customers in the store as 'unnecessary' and start herding the cattle out earlier so they can get home. I hate to write this review but I have had the same miserable experience on many visits to this location. Other Marshall's do close up shop early, but do not go about this process in a rude manner and/or start the process at t-15 minutes to closing to better accommodate to the last minute shoppers. Otherwise great store with some friendly employees.

For a small store it packs a powerful punch. Whoever their buyer is, is doing an fantastic job. The staff is all friendly and helpful. TJ Maxx has better clearance prices but I'm just thankful to shop local now. My only pet peeve is being asked to apply for the credit card EVERY time I check out. They are only doing their job and doing it well but it really begins to grate on the nerves. The company should really consider scaling back to every other customer or better yet do 3 months on 3 months off. Give your consumers a break. They know what card they...

The staff needs to go through a course on working in the public!!!! I have never had a store employee argue with me as the customer....I was not there 3 minutes and they made an announcement they were closing early they could have let us look around the store since we just walked in the door or meet us at the door and told us they were closing and then sat and argued about the storm that was coming they could have handled the whole situation much better it's highly doubtful I'll ever go back to that...
