The rooms were small but it was worth the price. The bed was uncomfortable and the toilet was in a tiny little cubby. But that’s not the reason for the 2/5 review. My problem was on our second night we got back around 7pm and turned the tv on. We fell asleep before 10:30pm and we’re sound asleep. We were awoken around 1am to the owner pounding on our door screaming at us because our tv was too loud. At this point we had the tv on for 6 hours and nothing was said, but he waited until the middle of the night and was screaming at us through the door. He also said we had been pounding on all the walls, which wasn’t true since we were sleeping for almost 3 hours. He was rude and I didn’t appreciate the way he handled things in the middle of the night. If it wasn’t for his rudeness this review would’ve...
Read moreGreat Weekend We have been coming to Lake Placid for many years and used to stay on the other side of the village until the Motel we frequented closed. During these Covid times that is important. The room was dated, but homey, and most importantly very, very clean. The owners actually work onsite (always a plus) and are extremely accommodating. The pool is really clean and nice. The price was very reasonable since we easily could spend twice as much. The weather and hiking were great and most people in town and on the trails wore masks and honored social distancing. We will definitely be...
Read moreWe booked through Travelocity, and within 12 hours, we had to cancel. The hotel has a no cancellation policy, so we were charged the entire amount, even though the front desk person said that they have people lined up in the office trying to book rooms and they are very busy. This means that they could easily have cancelled our reservation and replaced us with another customer, but they chose to make us unhappy and make an extra $200. Side note: the front desk person (Anna) who handles reservations was quite rude to us. She hung up multiple times on our Travelocity representative, and when after making my wife very upset, I called to talk to her, and she kept repeating "Just talk to your wife, and you will be updated. We already spoke...
