5 stars for the Dickās Tukwila WA store, BUT 1 star for Dickās sporting goods online. DONāT order a large item online. I was given such a hassle. I ordered a treadmill by calling the online order dept. I told them that we are older and so would need the treadmill brought into the house and set up. I was assured that would be no problem as long as we had no stairs to bring the treadmill up or down. We donāt and they assured me at least 3 times there would be no problem. The treadmill arrived at a moving company in Seattle. I was called and told that they would not bring the treadmill in, but would put it on the parking strip and at a later time (they didnāt know when) Dickās would send someone to get the equipment into the house. The reason was that the moving company couldnāt handle moving a 300 pound treadmill. I immediately called Dickās online company and was told that they would do something. They didnāt. For a long time, phone call after phone call, they gave me a run around. I finally called Dickās sporting goods in Tukwila WA and the manager handled the problem. The first thing we thought to do was to change my delivery address to the store and the store would deliver it to me, but the online company said that they couldnāt do that even with my permission. I finally asked for my money back so that I could go into the Tukwila store and buy a treadmill that the store guaranteed that they would bring into the house and install. Even though it took only one day to take my money the online store said they couldnāt possibly give me my money back for over 30 days (I think probably that was a deadline that if I had gone over I wouldnāt have gotten my money back). It took days for the manager of the Tukwila store to get them to listen and give my money back in a timely manner. When I went into the store to order a treadmill, I was given first class treatment. The treadmill was delivered into my house within 3 days and it was set up and we were shown how to use the equipment. Dickās online deserves less than one star. Dickās in Tukwila Washington deserves more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverytime we go to this store, everyone is always nice and helpful with items we buy. I just left the store to buy some gifts and we were in line waiting to be cashed out. At around 4:45 today ( Friday, November 18th) there was an older lady cashing out. Her items were accidentally put back when Erica (tall African American lady working as the cashier) went to the bathroom. The lady was older and I heard her clearly not speaking english and asked for her items. Erica explained once but the lady clearly did not understand. Erica then raised her voice at the older lady, rolled her eyes and looked at us to see if we were agreeing with her- which we were actually surprised at Ericas hostile hospitality especially to an older lady. The older lady then wanted to switch items and Erica said out loud with an attitude ā you donāt want this anymore then?!ā and rolled her eyes and then THREW the items to the back. Whoever the manager of the store is, please check your cameras for this date and time and check her actions. Please do not hire people in a customer service job if you cannot understand customers. As for Erica - shame on you. There was also another lady at the cashier who saw how hostile her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShoe Department is a nightmare. The kiosks are a terrible idea, just have a greeter/helper or two instead. Not an easy, quick experience. Sometimes people come in knowing what they want and they donāt want to have to wait for a computer to tell an employee to get the shoes for them. At Adidas, for example, there are two employees with scanners who greet everyone in the shoe department and physically help them with shoes. Itās much more personal, helpful, faster, overall a better experience.
After I was finally handed my shoes without so much as a āhere you goā or āthanks for waitingā after waiting about 10 minutes I had to help a confused older gentleman with the kiosk because he also wasnāt getting any help. For reference, Iām 26, right on the cusp of millennial and gen-z, but I still believe that a person is better than a computer when it comes to things like retail and sales. Honestly, even then, every employee I saw looked like they hated being there. The manager nearly walked right into me, looking down, didnāt say a word and wouldnāt even help ring people up. Wonāt be going back there...
