On the southern end of Tybee Island, my guess is this could be a cool area depending on the time of year. It is supposed to have tidal pools at low tide. Unfortunately, while we were there (mid-May), it was nothing but jellyfish and fairly windy to the point that our umbrella flipped. The hike from the parking lot is a lot with two little ones and a bunch of beach stuff especially pulling a wagon through the deeper sand. Read moreThe beach wasn’t far from where you can park, but even though they claim the beach to be free public space, it isn’t anywhere on Tybee island you hsve to pay to park your vehicle at $4 an hour right now, I don’t know bout anybody else but I like to stay in the beach for s least 4-6 hours, and that made it a little too expensive for my blood otherwise the beaches were nice, $8 for a couple of hours wasn’t too bad did that and got some color, Just a little sunburn anywhere I didn’t cover with screen, wanted to stay longer but then wouldn’t have worked out...
Read moreThis area and the pier here is really nice. It has parking and lots of cool little shops and good restaurants. There is one public bathroom located on the pier other than that you either have to patron a business or restaurant. They use computerized parking meter stands to pay for parking by the hour.
