Francisco Gonzalez, MD — Local services in Union City

My doctor retired so I called Dr. Gonzalez' office to schedule an appointment. I had seen him about 9 years ago about a minor problem, but I'd liked him very much. When I called, I got an answering machine, so I left a message. This was on Monday. By Friday, nobody had called me back, so I called again. I spoke to someone who seemed really reluctant to give me an appointment. I asked if Dr. Gonzalez had any mornings available and he said that Dr. Gonzalez only sees patients after 4:00. It is now 6:00 and I noticed that on his website, it says that the office is closed. So, Dr. Gonzalez sees patients for two hours a day? I guess it' s up to him, but the person on the phone seemed piqued when I told him the name of my insurance carrier. I asked to speak to someone else, because I just sensed there was something wrong. He said he would gladly transfer me, and then I was disconnected. I called back, got the answering machine and, as of now, nobody from his office has returned my call. To sum it up, they clearly were not interested in having me as a patient. I oriiginally posted this review over a month ago. I tried calling them again several times, just to be sure that it was not a fluke that they never returned my calls. It was not a fluke. I’ve been looking for a fair and honest doctor’s office in my area, Union City for some time. Dr. Gonzales is pretty good. Attentive, caring, and a good listener. However, as is the custom in this area, appointments are scheduled to overlap each other and so if you make a 3:30, as I did, you’ll be waiting a few hours before being seen. If you make the same appointment somewhere outside of this area, Hoboken, Hackensack, PARAMUS, you’ll see the doctor at no later than 3:35. Why is this? Horrific..... They never ever answer the phone and Are not friendly nor knowledgeable. the office smells, is disorderly and the staff is not very accomodating to the elderly. We waited 3 hours to be seen by the Dr. with an appt. The phone rings and they don't answer. My mom had to wait 2 weeks for blood results that were Ready next day. If i had not gone there in person to demand her results, my mom's surgery could have been canceled. This is not a good care place for the elderly, all should go to Dr. Daub. She is in Union City and accepts medicare. You never have to wait either. Your appt is YOUR appt......never...
