While the gallery is well stocked and rather well laid out the staff seem rather snooty and were not very helpful in discussing pricing or options. My wife and I went to the store on 1/17/20 and were greeted quickly and told they were having a 20% off sale with no sales tax and then an additional 10% off on top of that for Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and a discount on shipping, which all sounded great. We said we were looking for a rocking recliner since we are about to have a baby and want something comfortable. We started looking around with the help of our sales woman. We found a chair we really liked with a tag price of about $940. I thought that with the sale going on that should bring the out the door price to just around $1000. Our sales person who was obviously in training was helped by another employee to pull up the pricing information. When she came back she told us the price was over $1600 but then with the sale would bring it down to a bit over $1300. I asked "how do we go from the $940 price tag on the chair to over $1600?" The sales woman started spouting out the extra cost of the 5 year fabric warranty, ordering custom fabric, and delivery charges. I said "all that adds $700 to the price tag?" I said "I don't understand, if this chair has everything I want and it is priced at $940 where is all the extra cost coming from? I want to walk out of here at just about $1000." The other sales woman gave us a smirking look and walked off. I asked our saleswoman "can you explain the price breakdown and how we're getting to $1600?" She then said the tag price IS the sale price and started repeating herself about the extra costs and that people keep La-Z-Boys for 20 plus years etcetera. I said "Your pricing makes no sense whatsoever, so thanks but we're leaving" and we left the store. If they had been more forthcoming about the base cost and breaking down all the extras maybe we could have worked it out, but they weren't and didn't. I went home and looked up the same chair on their website. The Pinnacle Rocking Recliner, and guess what, it's priced at $819 not $940 and that's without the 'sale price'. So I ordered the same chair from their website for just over $1000 with shipping and tax included which tells me the sale was bull s**t and they don't know what they are doing. Only benefit of visiting the store was being able to test out the chairs in person to figure out which one we liked. Read moreDo NOT shop here! Absolutely the worst experience of my life buying furniture! I went in a dozen times to decide on the perfect sofa, and then the fabric. CHANELLE who is the store manager was also my sales person. To make an extra buck for her pocket in Commission, she downgraded the cushions that go in my sofa without telling me. Once I received it and it's hard as a rock, she refused to do anything to fix it so I started having to call corporate. Corporate says not their problem call the store, I called the store they say not our problem call corporate I keep asking to speak to her manager Who she says does not speak to customers and refuses to let me speak to her supervisor. After more than a week of going around and around between the store and corporate, she comes back and says that her manager is willing to allow me to order a new sofa to get the correct one, but I have to pay an additional 25% of the original cost of my sofa in order to get this done. I agree only because I have a sofa so hard it is painful to sit on and I'm just defeated at this point. I got a call from corporate that afternoon saying they're going to send me out the correct cushions and just have someone come install them. Seems like a much better thing, but when the cushions arrive they have only sent me 2 of a sofa that requires 3. When I call back I get somebody that tells me they can't order the 3rd cushion for 30 days. I have to ask to speak to a supervisor who has to go back and Speak to the original person that ordered them to realize that once again this is another screwup on their part and so she orders me a third cushion. I wait two weeks for last cushion to arrive only for it to be the wrong one. I now have two different types of cushions. I now have to wait again for the correct cushions. The lady from corporate isn't even exactly sure what cushions are supposed to be in the sofa that I ordered and is just randomly ordering cushions in hopes that eventually it will be...
Read moreWe purchased an oversized chair from Lazy Boy in 2009. It was our first big purchase as a married couple! It has seen us through 12 years of marriage, two very active and fun boys, and two dogs. The only reason we were looking to make a new purchase is because the space we now have does not work with our furniture. That being said, we knew when it was time to get new furniture, we would go with Lazy Boy. It has lasted us so long and is so comfortable, sturdy, and well made.
The customer service at the Union City store was stellar. The manager spoke with me on the phone to get a better idea of what we were looking for and our budget. She then proceeded to set up an appointment for us to come in to meet with her and see the products she came up with for us. She was so accommodating and made sure to communicate with us as she was helping other customers throughout the store.
The staff all wore masks and followed social distancing . Only 25 people were allowed in the showroom at one time and everyone was spaced apart. I felt very comfortable , safe, and excited to be able to shop even given all the restrictions of COVID.
I was very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff there.We did make a purchase. It was the very last choice that was something we had not even considered ( reclining sofa set) !! We cannot wait to get it! It was a hot buy so, a super affordable price , which included delivery as well as hauling away of our old furniture.
