Games Workshop — Local services in Union City

I recently visited the Games Workshop in Union City with my daughter, and I was blown away by the experience. We were warmly greeted by Nate the moment we walked in. Despite already helping two players in a battle and guiding a couple of hobbyists painting miniatures, he still took the time to introduce himself and make us feel welcome.

Since it was my daughter’s first time in, Nate gave her a miniature to build, offered helpful tips, and encouraged her along the way. Once she had it put together, he even swapped it for a primed miniature and provided paint so she could start her first painting session. He continued to check in on her progress, giving her little tips while letting her have fun and make it her own.

Watching my daughter light up as she built and painted her first Space Marine was an awesome experience. Nate’s patience, enthusiasm, and genuine care made all the difference. The customer service was top-notch, and thanks to this experience, we’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be picking up miniatures here as well.

Sign on the front said temporarily closed, despite no mention of that on their automated phone message, Google, or Facebook page. There was an employee in the store who refused to stand up and walk to the door or pick up the phone despite several polite requests to see when they would be open. Called the store later and the employee said he was "on his lunch break" (although he couldnt stand up and tell me that when I knocked on the door) and offered no apology. I didnt expect to be let into the store I just wanted information about when they would be open next.

Saw Reddit posts about this store (bad experiences with employees) and its a shame its the only one within an hour from me. I was looking forward to interacting with someone in the community. Definitely will just buy online...

After Lucas left. A man named Wrench took over made booming sales and was beloved by the community he left as well. New guy there is named Nate. Super corporate style, won't let people use the restroom now and tried to push a sale on me. Lucas and Wrench never did that I'll play here yet I won't give money to this store anymore unless there's an in store exclusive I want. Most of the original community who run a discord server have had enough and moved on to other LGS places which are better like Angry Goose Games, Games of Fremont and Game...
