Andersen Bakery — Restaurant in Union City

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Anderson Bakery in Union City, California, and I must say, my experience was delightful. Opting for their combo deal, I chose the tomato soup with a half sandwich. The soup was a revelation - rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned, offering a comforting embrace with every spoonful. It paired beautifully with the sandwich, which was a culinary masterpiece in its own right.

The sandwich, featuring grilled chicken and sautéed mushrooms, was a harmony of flavors. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, while the mushrooms added a wonderful earthiness that complemented the meat beautifully. The bread, presumably baked in-house, was fresh, soft on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside, making it the perfect vessel for the delicious fillings.

I have been going to this bakery for years, so I really really want to give it a four or five star review. Unfortunately, the service has really gone downhill. Staff have been replaced by less motivated and more complacent workers and ingredient quality has gradually worsened (salads are very obviously not fresh). And dear God their listening comprehension skills are absolutely abysmal. Every time I order the same thing (one ingredient omitted) and TIME AND TIME AGAIN THEY ABSOLUTELY FAIL TO ACCOMODATE AN EXTREMELY SIMPLE REQUEST. If you can't do it just tell me, don't pretend to understand and not do it.
