Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat. Cu-Co-Cla-Ca. The art and science of mounting for display the supreme beauties of Mother Earth's slow developing creations and the modern lab fruits find sincere stewardship at Betteridge Jewelers in Vail Colorado. The depth of care of an ownership family group and the staff they have grown is a precious commodity in its own right. While it is true that the personal touch matters, the performance of the luxury jewelry and watches is the essence and one soon has come away from the showcases, fittings and solemn hushed discussions to continue living with the genuine article purchased. A diamond reflective of the unity of marriage possesses diamondfire of a very special song; turned in light is reveals commitment and truth - the hopes of souls endowed destined greatness in the exploration of the art and science of the fit of man and woman. This is important business... The career person arrives to an occasion where they wish for their understanding and accomplishment to cycle meaningfully in the historicity of our rich heritage of watchmaking, so that the patient hours invested in learning, in service and in looking to the peak of one's field may exude that legitimacy of attainment through the secret mechanisms, windings, swinging levers and soothing precision sweetly locked behind the dial. Though we are eager to come away to the inner spaces of our lives with the acquired shimmering gifts and symbols performing as they aught, we are duly anxious over TRUST. How much of what you buy will you come away with in deed, or how much will go somehow errant within the match-up of the complex conversations over esoteric GIA points of insight and the gem facts in hand? Perhaps you will not get robbed outright, but there are many gray areas, many mysteries of valuation and many cu-co-cla-ca concepts that take years to master. High currency stupidity bites with a lasting sting! Don't do it! We aim to be clever, we make the stand for a transaction that continues to bless; but we lack knowledge. The closer we step to some purchases the more we learn we don't know. New York, Los Angeles, Geneva - you will hear many explanations, assessments and angles of perceived value: how much do you believe? Are you a sucker inclined towards wallowing in the adulation ladled out to the potential buyer? Or are you so leery that you close your heart from treasuring Earth's treasures and cause your hearing to hold all talk away as much as possible? I feel that Betteridge maintains a sense of human beings, both us across the counter and themselves and their vendors and that this gives us a beneficial quantity of security in our weighing. They have a nice balance of down to earth kindness and the real honor of what makes artistically rendered jewels expensive to own. Additionally, the antlers and panel wood decor of the shop create a pleasant resonance with the mountains and sprawling forests of the region wherein Vail herself is star set, the twinkling diamondfire of night stars orchestrating continuing ceremony. We come to Vail for many reasons - our visits are geared to the mainspring of our life factors. Properly meditate on each addition of jewelry, craft selections so as money gains opportunity to express its potency in loveliness the appreciation of people in your life...
Read moreCheck the end of the review for an update!!!! Stopped by Betteridge yesterday to purchase my first Rolex (something I've been wanting since High School), and I have to say this shop and specifically Ara exceeded all my expectations. I can't wait for one of the models to come in and purchase from them. Definitely worth the drive! Ara was incredibly to work with. She was personable, so helpful, kind, knew a lot about Rolex, and was honest. I felt valued and was well taken care of. I was even able to 'nerd out' about Rolex, their production, and their values with Ara. That experience and many others over my short visit made me truly feel like I belonged at Betteridge, and this is from someone who has no purchase history. I can't wait to purchase my first Rolex from them, I'm genuinely happy they and Ara will have my business! The shop has an 'old world' feel that, to me, fits exactly what a Rolex AD should be like. It's almost like stepping back in time when you enter. Although I didn't look at other pieces, they appear to have a great selection. They did have a fantastic selection of pre-owned Rolexes. Happy they also stock Cartier since a Cartier Tank will be my next purchase after the Rolex.
I read the negative reviews of this place, I absolutely didn't experience anything that was stated. On the contrary to the review stating that the experience didn't live up to their expectation of a Rolex AD was completely opposite to my experience. As I stated my experience exceeded expectations. Regarding the reviews about the long wait and not getting the watch they wanted, that's the world we live in...there's a wait for a new Rolex or if you don't want to wait you can buy a pre-owned option from Betteridge right away (again their pre-owned was well stocked). So, ignore the negative reviews and stop by this awesome shop and make your own opinion from what will be definitely be a fantastic experience!
For anyone still reading the review at this point, I'll update when I get the call to pick up a watch!
EDIT: Got the call ONE day later for my Explorer 36mm. This isn't normal, I honestly got lucky; so don't expect a one day turnaround but I was very very happy! Great customer service all around!
Thanks Betteridge, can't wait to do...
Read moreI originally visited Rob at Betteridge TWO years ago to inquire about a Rolex and add my name to "the list". It was for a special milestone I achieved with my career, and I was fully aware of the backlog of Rolex due to the tremendous demand coupled with limited supply. I was prepared to wait as my career milestone in which I was celebrating took 15 years to achieve (so what's another 6 months?). I checked in via email every few months to see how inventory forecasts were looking, and they were initially very responsive. After about a year and a half of check-ins, I stopped getting responses. I had 5 separate pieces of communication that went unanswered over the past 6 months, and even stopped in again to check in (Rob wasn't working that day unfortunately, so a wasted trip). I feel ghosted after investing 2 years into acquiring a timepiece. It's absurd you have to "play the game" for such a premium product, and It absolutely tarnishes the brand and diminishes the achievement in which you are trying to celebrate. I know they probably receive dozens of inquiries a day on Rolex, but two years invested and nothing to show for it is extremely discouraging. There are better ways they can adopt to navigate this demand to ensure their customers don't feel like a nuisance. I have friends and colleagues that went to Denver Rolex dealers and received their timepieces within 6 to 8 months.... something I was resistant to do because I had already invested time into Betteridge. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere if you are in the market...
