I recently visited Macy's in Washington DC and while it was a pleasant experience overall, I would only give it a 3-star review. The store itself was clean and well-organized, but we weren't greeted by anyone upon arrival. While it's not a huge deal, it would have been nice to have a friendly face welcome us and offer assistance. That being said, when we did need help, the associates were very friendly and willing to assist us with any questions we had. They were knowledgeable about the products and helped us find what we were looking for without any issues. In terms of the store itself, it seemed like a normal Macy's with a decent selection of clothing, accessories, and home goods. However, the building itself was very pretty and located in a very nice area of Washington DC. Overall, while there were no major issues during my visit to Macy's in Washington DC, there was nothing particularly outstanding about the experience either. It was a standard department store with friendly associates and a pretty building, but nothing that would make me rush back for another visit.

Okay now I know why all the Macys are going out of business and closing!!! Non existent customer service and if you do have to interact with someone they are rude and dismissive. I found a total of four employees in a store with five floors. Anyway I found a sweater I liked. I waited a long time in line and wanted to know the price (when they had good customer service years ago it could be even cheaper than the tag). That cashier was not friendly at all and not helpful. They don’t discount anything anymore even though I had many “coupons” in my email. I decided not to buy the sweater. Then I changed my mind and wanted to buy it but there was another line so I went to a cashier upstairs. No line and she was so fast that I don’t remember her telling me there was a bag fee. Changed my mind again about the sweater (really wanted it cheaper) and the lady had to do a return. When I got my receipt they refunded everything but the bag fee. I gave her the bag back. Still wouldn’t refund it so she called the “manager” who was named Domino and she was weird. She said they couldn’t refund the bag fee and I said that was stealing. She really couldn’t care less but called someone who was equally unhelpful. So it’s only five cents but it’s still stealing. They refused to help. Over five cents they have permanently lost my business. There was even some change near her register and she could have give me the nickel but refused and started mocking me. Said she knew I had problems with the lady downstairs. I said I only changed my mind about the sweater and the line was too long!!! Like they have time to spy on you but not actually help you. I understand now why all the Macys in the country are closing. Must only hire the rudest most useless people available. Also there are no deals and most of their clothes are frumpy except the cute sweater I found but wanted it cheaper. And I know I am upset about five cents but it’s still stealing. And the really funny thing is they are going to have to send me a bill and pay for mailing and postage for five...

Moved down here from Atlanta, visit this location before and spent over 200$ dollars but today I came looking for a hat and glasses, as I’m trying on a hat I want to purchase, a lady of color (because I am a black woman) she ask me did I need help I politely told her no, I knew what I wanted and I was just checking it out in the mirror, the lady of color continued to ask me irrelevant questions, I kind of ignored because now I felt profiled but I shrugged it off and went to sunglass hut looking at shades now, I’m inside there for maybe 10 minutes trying on glasses, since the booth was right next to where I pick the hat up, the hat was actually sitting on the table in front of 2 employees and a security officer (ironic how much I was surrounded when I tried on the glasses too) but again I’m not thinking nothing of it because money 💰 is not a issue for ME, Thank you God! But anyways as I’m finishing up on the shades I want, I asked the employee standing there helping me can I purchase both items here he said no, and the HAT was still on table, so I said ok and here comes this woman of color demanding I purchase the hate now, huh?!!! I had a pair of shades on looking in the mirror, obviously I’m still shopping lady, I couldn’t believe it, not only I was shocked I was humiliated, so I told her “ma’am I already spoken to a employee here where to buy the hat once I’m done here”, I couldn’t believe this lady had the audacity to keep following me when n fact I was not even there for 15 minutes, yes I spoke to a manager Lisa, who was amazing by the way, but the fact remain the same I was PROFILED based on my skin color. This feels weird especially when you experience yourself, never have I felt that way, and I hope other people who look like me take heed to where their money goes! This should never...
