I went into Plato's Closet this past Friday, after a long, hot day of work. I was bringing in some clothes I no longer wanted, in order to try to make some extra cash to get by until next week. I had called earlier to see what the process was and if I would have to wait for a significant amount of time before getting the cash for any items they would take. I was under the impression that I wouldn't have to wait and that they would go through the items right then and there. But, when I walked in I was told that there were several people in line in front of me. The cashier also said that in about twenty minutes, I would receive a text upon completion of my items being sorted/prices. I was very rude at that point and started complaining, which I am not proud of. I stormed out and sat outside and smoked a cigarette. About 5 minutes later, to my surprise- I got the text that my items were ready for pickup! When I walked in, there was a gentlemen at the register. He apologized immediately for any misunderstanding on the phone and let me know that he did whatever he could, to get my items processed as quickly as possible because my time is valuable, and he realizes that. His name is Eric, and he was truly one of the most genuine people I have ever come across in customer service. You can tell that he truly values his customers and their time, and treated me with nothing but kindness and respect even when I wasn't the nicest to him! Thank you so much, Eric- for giving me the best experience possible at Plato's Closet and I will most certainly be...
Read morePlatoâs has a nice selection of clothing, and Iâm often impressed by the things I can find for my daughter. Sheâs 12 and very tall for her age, so it can be challenging to find womenâs clothing that fits her well, but this store usually has great options.
During my last visit, I tried on a dress and mentioned to an employee that it would be helpful to have a small table or spot in the fitting rooms to place things like a phone, keys, or sunglasses, since I donât carry a purse. The employee explained that the fitting rooms are small and thereâs no space, but there is a larger fitting room at the end with a bench that Iâve used before and really liked. I also suggested something simple, like a small hanging caddy on the hooks.
It felt like the employee (JA on the receipt) didnât really want to hear any suggestions and just brushed me off. It would have been nice if my feedback had been acknowledged a little more openly.
Overall, I appreciate the store and the variety of clothing, but I think thereâs an opportunity to improve the fitting room experience, especially for customers who prefer not to...
Read moreI wouldnât recommend selling clothing here unless youâre selling âcasual teenage style clothingâ, as the cashiers described it. For more âdressyâ clothing, they say to try Dickson city. Youâll get 3% based on what they would offer to sell your clothing for, but they love buying beat up vans, so youâll be able to take vans or converse in almost any condition here and still make $5-$10 from them, so thereâs your plus. They also donât really purchase from the brand Torrid, as the cashierâs were speaking amongst one another they âdonât really have a sizing rackâ for plus sized clothing such as Torrid. Youâll find lululemon and gym shark to buy, as well as plenty of shorts if youâre looking- however I highly recommend unless you fit the âteen casualâ style, that you sell elsewhere. Thankfully, the cashier I had was pleasant, I believe her name was Hannah. Based on finding some nicely priced things to buy on occasion, even if theyâll buy tank tops that say âThe Girls Are Getting Wasted Againâ- it would be the only reason Iâd...
