I come here every once in awhile, and I've had pretty positive experiences every time most of the people are compassionate and accommodating. The only feedback I have is the main lady that runs the whole thing as far as taking names and putting info into computer is really passive aggressively rude, shes been help run the food bank since I've started using it 8 years ago, at the old location I've witnessed her snap at people for asking genuine questions. Being short with people who don't speak English. I even witnessed a daughter and mother come in, the daughter there to translate, call her out for the way she spoke to her mother. These are underprivileged or struggling people, you think she could be a little more gentler with the folks she handling. I've been in some pretty rough spots trying to afford ya know, life. I have been emotionally fragile in those times and if this woman had spoke to me in those moments, the way she has to others, I would have probably cried and left and gone without. I've seen her snap and be passive aggressive with the volunteers she's training. A Volunteer asked a genuine question about where something should go or the location of something, something along those linet and she responded with a very snarky, "that's why I put it there." I once tried to volunteer to be told that if I had used that food bank that it was policy that I couldn't volunteer there. This was a few years back but it just seems presumptuous that all poor folk steel, and problematic to not let people who once needed help give back and help the programs that helped them. I thought we were trying to better our communitys in an inclusive manner? Its disappointing to live in the community we do, and at times our food bank struggles or has to really ration everything out accordingly or they can't help out the community. There's is definitely room for improvement...
Read moreThank God for every food bank in America! This one is pretty darn good! It's kind of small but it has everything in it. It is one of the ones where it's supposed to feel like you're shopping, although I was pretty closely supervised. Not sure if this was due to their need to watch their clients or their wanting to help me get through it easier due to my not being able to walk. Either way, I just want to thank them...
Read moreWe've visited the Food Bank a number of times during the pandemic and it's been a lifesaver. The volunteers are so friendly and go out of their way to help people feel more comfortable in a trying situation. This visit, it was apparent that donations aren't coming in at the same rate that they used to. Still, we came away with a few days of nutritious food to keep our...
