Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Winchester

Unfamiliar to the Ollie's line of stores, I had no expectations upon visiting. The Ollie's brand seems to have customer service and authenticity their priority, with their "7 ½ Commandments" high and center in front of checkout registers.

However, the store seems unkept and scattered. Some amount of organization exists, although navigating the store seems like a chore. If needing any one item in particular, one may be searching for some time. As Ollie's is a liquidation store, I suppose what they offer changes every so often.

Perhaps I am simply inexperienced to shopping at liquidations stores, but unknowing what the store has at any given time seems bothersome. I was reminded of discount stores, which seem like the better option to visit.

I was asked for my member number which is phone number that I've been using over 20 years and of course it never comes up in most stores so the cashier decided to take upon herself and scan her member card!!! I said excuse me why are you tracking my purchase for someone else and to collect whatever points or value having the card offers and she said if she didn't she'd get in trouble. I call BS! THIS IS SHADY AF!!! I could never!!! That's the worst for a cashier to do!!! Isn't that technically STEALING from the company you worked for using all the customers as cash cows for her benefit!?!?! Overall the store is well stocked, and always has a nice variety of items. The issues I find with this business are that the flooring section does not have the same variety as it once did, the prices are not really what I would consider a bargain on most items, and there are not enough customer service employees available. However, I can generally find what I'm shopping for or something comparable, I do find some bargains, the seasonal sections usually has some nice and unique stuff, and the book section is very nice.
