Golden Charm Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

My sister and I had booked a room from March 24 to April 4, 2023 and went to see the hotel before we were to check in. We were not able to see a room because we were told all the rooms were booked but the rooms looked just like the pictures on Booking.com Nothing could have been further from the truth. The condition of the hotel was deplorable. The carpets in the hallway were worn and badly stained, there was mold on all the windows (which were propped open by a coat hanger), the pot light fixture in the bathroom was dangling from the ceiling by bare wires, the taps were rusty and corroded. There was a cup on the bathroom counter that was stuck to the counter. I saw no towels or face cloths and the linen on the beds was threadbare and stained. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall. We had difficulty opening the balcony door and when we managed to open it we saw there was no table and chairs as advertised. In fact the balcony was so small it would not have been possible to put a table and chairs out there. When my sister went downstairs to speak to the person at the desk, she looked in the dining room and there were 2 badly stained mattresses leaning up against the dining room tables and there was a man sleeping on the bench seats covered with a dirty blanket. She advised the person we would not be staying there and paid for 1 night accommodation just to get out of our booking. When he figured out what we owed, he told us it would be 12 million Dong which is the equivalent to 800 CDN dollars. Honestly, I had a lot to say about this hotel.

Booked via Agoda; misrepresentation from the site. I'm utterly disappointed with the information given. It's nothing like what Agoda has stated and the room pictures are 100% not accurate. I don't know where Agoda actually got it from.

The room: small, scary and unsafe. The room lock system is outdated to the max. The bathroom: smell musky & it's moldy. The faucet is spoilt and there is rubber band tied around the shower head so that it doesn't drop out when the water spray. The room & bathroom lights are dimmed because the hotel cannot be bothered to fix it. The room smells so bad of mold that I couldn't sleep the entire night. There's no blanket because it is just the quilt cover.

Location is great because there are plenty of food to choose from. The street is quiet at night after 9:30pm.

Hotel guest relation: He's super nice even though he looks gangster buy he's actually quite a sweet guy cos I made him laughed several times.

Overall: Luckily I'm only staying here for a night instead of 2 because my bus trip is a day earlier. Please don't bother to book any stay here because you wouldn't like it at all. NOT AT ALL! I will not come back to stay at this Hang Quat street ever again. Per night cost me SGD28.62 after 5% discount coupon.

Recently stayed in this hotel. The hotel was absolutely disgusting. I would never stay here again. The rooms were not what was advertised on the website and online. The first room we stayed in was very oddly laid out. ||The room stunk of damp and mould. The bathroom was equally horrible and had mould all over it and limescale all over the taps. ||The wall paper was starting curl - evident of dampness/ moisture in the room. The walls of the room were hollow and subsequently could hear everything when people walked past. ||After a terrible night sleep I spoke with the hotel staff to swap rooms. They swapped us into a different room which was just as bad. When first entering the room, the window was smashed. Granted this was an internal window of the hotel, it was still bad and we felt very unsafe in there. ||The room showed signs of significant wear and tare. The walls were covered in filth and dirt marks. The room still smelt of damp and mould. ||When getting into bed there was stains all over the sheets with what can only be described as blood. I spoke with the hotel staff to swap the sheets and they were still dirty. ||The hotel is in a great location in the old quarter and recommend hotel to revamp where possible.
