A Culinary Masterpiece in Brisbane CBD

If you're searching for an exceptional Italian dining experience in Brisbane CBD, look no further than Doughcraft. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the attentive staff and promptly taken to our table—a delightful start to what would become an unforgettable evening.

Our dining experience was elevated by the incredible service of Martina, our table waiter, who went above and beyond to ensure that every moment felt special. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor perfectly complemented the exquisite dishes that awaited us.

The food at Doughcraft is nothing short of extraordinary. We began with scallops on potato gratin as our appetiser—a delicate and flavorful introduction to the culinary artistry of the restaurant. Moving on to the mains, we indulged in the marrow and ragu ravioli, a special dish crafted by the restaurant owner, whose talent shines through as past contestants of MKR. Another standout was the Moreton Bay Bug spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, a dish that was beautifully rich and full of depth, with each bite better than the last.

All of this was perfectly paired with a delightful Pinot Grigio, which enhanced the flavors of the meal and left us wanting more. The grand finale was their tiramisu, creatively served in a chilled and frosty Italian coffee percolator—a unique and memorable presentation of a the classic tiramisu.

Doughcraft sets the bar for Italian cuisine in Brisbane, creating an unparalleled dining experience with exceptional service, incredible flavors, and thoughtful touches. This is a restaurant we will undoubtedly return to if back in Brisbane and one we recommend wholeheartedly. The best Italian food and experience we've ever had I...

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a private party in "The Cellar" at Doughcraft Brisbane, and it was an unforgettable experience. Simone and Viviana, the talented My Kitchen Rules champions, were just as down-to-earth and friendly in person as they were on TV, making the evening even more special.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. We started with a pizza for our toddler, but to our surprise, he couldn't get enough of the baby octopus – it was melt-in-the-mouth tender and delicately flavoured. The lobster and guanciale taco was rich and full of flavour, and my prawn and potato ravioli was out of this world – perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection. Every dish was so delicious that we finished everything.

For dessert, the profiteroles were stand-out – light, fluffy, and filled with a rich, creamy filling. My mother also adored the mixed berry tart, which had a buttery, crisp crust, a smooth custard filling, and a delicate basil cream that added the perfect touch. It was as beautiful as it was delicious.

The staff were fantastic, making the evening extra special for our family. With our loved ones scattered in different places, we don’t get together often, and having the private room really made the occasion feel even more meaningful. We’re so grateful for the care and attention to detail shown by the team.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Doughcraft Brisbane is truly a gem, and we’ll...

For me Doughcraft is the "bomb". I have been coming to what I class as my "happy place" at least once a month (or more than once in a month) for quite a while now and have brought family and friends here over the course of that time to share in the experience. I have my favourite items on the menu as I really love seafood. For me, I have only ever experienced wonderful food, a great vibe and very personal, friendly and attentive service from staff. Sure when the nights are busy there is always noise, but surely diners would like and hopefully enjoy the vibe of a fun and happy dining environment.? What comes to my mind most was when I brought my sister & brother in-law and we were seated in the cellar which was perfect as my brother in-law had an operation many years ago where his vocal cords suffered hence him not being able to project his voice in a louder and happy environment. Being seated in the cellar gave him the space to talk comfortably without straining in a public dining space and also enjoy a fun happy vibe encompassing great food and friendly, attentive staff. For me personally, my only request to Doughcraft is to never take off your menu the scallops tartine entree, the octopus with main, the prawn & potato ravioli in that crazy beautiful prawn bisque & I cannot forget the entree of lobster & guanciale taco (but unfortunately I do not have a photo). I’ve been recommended this restaurant by many friends as a standout on Brisbane’s culinary scene but I personally was disappointed by the food. We ordered the carbonara, the tartufo pinsa and pumpkin gnocchi. For drinks, we ordered the aperol spritz, lychee southside mocktail and piquant margarita. The food is on the pricier side for what was in them. The pumpkin gnocchi was rubbery and there was a lack of sauce. It was very bland and was lacking in both flavour and texture. The tartufo pinsa was crispy and was probably the best dish out of the ones we ordered. All the ingredients paired well together, however it was lacking in truffle flavour. I’m not sure if the truffle even made it onto the pinsa, or if it did, I couldn’t tell. The carbonara was a hit and a miss at the same time. The sauce was luscious and savoury without being too rich, and the guanciale was very crispy. However, it was extremely thick and dry, and although we did mix it before eating, it clumped unevenly along the strands of pasta. I love pasta with a bite to it, however the pasta was on the raw side of al dente, and was quite difficult to chew, giving the dish an overall unsatisfactory mouthfeel. The drinks were faultless and honestly a highlight of the night. Overall, I’m quite disappointed as this restaurant has been on my list for a while and I honestly expected it to be better.
