I booked a table here based on a website reviewing good steak houses. I looked at the menu in depth prior to making a booking. I went with a friend and both of us are in our late 50s with a wealth of culinary, travel and even wine experience and knowledge (and qualifications). So let me share my experiences. Firstly the ordering process was fantastic. I did not recognise the wine brands on the menu so they organised someone to come talk to us and he really knew his wine, and was spot on. The wine was decanted, and we were given a professional opportunity to taste test. The wine bottle was about $150. The steak was a little confusing as the number of days aged was not on the menu but the waiter went and asked and then came back not just with an answer but a recommendation based on what my personal preferences were. The only thing wrong was they mixed up my request for chips on the side vs a baked potato. Mind, they then provided a very large bowl of chips ( I ended up eating the potato and some of the chips - everything was amazing). I'm going to break the rest of this review down so you can see what I am talking about. Kitchen staff are visible through the open kitchen layout and they were incredibly efficient and professional. The place was packed but the orders came out on top for the entire venue and from what I could see and hear, everyone was happy esp. me. The Waiters deserve a special mention and as I said above, they were great but I want to mention one young lady who has worked here for 7 months, her name is Jenni. She is the most engaging and attentive waiter I have ever encountered in my entire life and in all my worldly travels. I even wanted to tip her but she politely declined. Jenni was incredibly friendly, she listened, she used active feedback in her communication, she has an infectious smile but remained humble. She's only 20 years old but shows remarkable maturity and responsibility. We did keep her at the table towards the end when the workload was less just to chat, asking her what she wanted to do with her career and what her aspirations were. My advice to the venue owner is this: NEVER lose this person. Move her into the kitchen as she wants to be a chef and with this attitude she has, she will only be an asset to you for as long as you can hang onto her. In fact she would even be an ideal candidate for a super yacht staff member and I even said as much. All she needs are a few certifications but her dreams are to become a su chef in the future she has dreamt of. I even spoke to several staff including one young lady who had only been there 2 weeks. I am incredibly impressed by the training they receive and how they are rotated through which clearly allows them to understand how the restaurant works. Atmosphere: Despite the venu probably holding in excess of 100 people, it was comfortable, not overly noisy, and it was very comfortable and relaxing. The fires at the front grill are very impressive and certainly add to the atmosphere. The food was simply amazing, and considering I mentioned my rather nasty MSG allergy, they were very attentive and careful to avoid. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. I honestly cannot criticize anything and it was absolutely worth the $305 price tag for dinner. It was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life and I will try to return to Brisbane in future and come here again. I rarely write such detailed reviews, and rarely mention individuals. If I am not happy with something, I say so but offer constructive criticism when needed. However it was not needed here as it was a clear 10/10 dining experience. Well done to the entire crew, managers and owners. If you are reading this review pondering if its real and you should come here, it was real. In fact I was so comfortable and engaged It totally slipped my mind to take pictures. If I return in future (I live interstate), I will take...

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional customer service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. In particular, I would like to commend one of your staff members, Jaime, for going above and beyond to assist me in a time of distress.
I had unfortunately misplaced my phone, which contained important personal items such as credit cards, medical cards, and my driver's license. This caused immense panic and anxiety for me, as I couldn't bear the thought of losing these valuable belongings. However, Jaime's kindness, patience, and unwavering support truly made a difference in that moment.
Not only did she take the time to help me search for my phone, but she even went the extra mile by suggesting to call the restaurant, offering to scout the area to locate the ringing phone. Her dedicated efforts and genuine concern were truly remarkable, and I cannot thank her enough for her help.
Eventually, I did find my phone, but what will forever stay with me is the compassion and generosity Jaime displayed during this ordeal. She exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding team member, always willing to lend a helping hand and maintaining a calm and steady demeanor.
Jaime is undoubtedly a gem and a great asset to your restaurant. Her exceptional customer service has left a lasting impression on me, and I wanted to extend my gratitude once again for her kindness and the peace of mind she provided me with.
Thank you for fostering a positive and supportive environment at the Boatshed. It is clear that your staff truly values the happiness and satisfaction of your customers. I look forward to many more memorable dining experiences at your establishment.

Read moreWell, we passed this restaurant plenty of times, it looks like a very nice place to have dinner at. So we tried. The place was good, the staff were friendly. The waiter have asked us if we wanted the food to come together, n we said yes.
However, the entree and my risotto arrived first. So i waited for the other 2 food ( 2 baramundi ) to arrive too to start to eat, because we expected that the food will come soon after. 10 mins passed, the foods didnt come 15 mins still didnt. We asked to the waiter who took the order To check on the foods as my food now getting cold. He did check it n even offered me to change my rissotto into new one. I said " its ok ". 25 mins, we asked again. I guess he is the supervisor ( the guy with blonde dyed guy) came to us n we told him what happened, so he called that waiter, they hv a talked n then the waiter took my food from the table n said gonna change it into the new one.
Well, finally the baramundi have arrived, n 2 mins later my rissotto. N guess what? That was the same rissotto that they took from my table before. So its cold! They were jst tucked it away on the table on the otherside i reckon. we told that same waiter about it n he said " oh really? So sorry, do you want to take away? " i said no. Because i only ate the bug tail, how can i eat cold risotto?
What dissappointed us was the dishonesty! Why bother to took the food away n said to chnge it to a new one when u didn't? To not get caught at least u should reheat it first!
Here, the photos of the rissotto and baramundi with their time when they were served. Check on the time. Risotto was 19.26 Baramundi was 20.10 44 mins apart!
Great place, but sorry we will not...
