I used to come here all the time, I really enjoyed the place, and it does have a lot of positives, there is a large variety of food to order and it's menu displays tones of very clear and easy to read information about what is vegetarian, what is vegan, what is gluten free, what is vegan and gluten free etc.
It took one bad experience for me to stop coming here.
My partner and I walked in 90 minutes before closing, so you know, heaps of time. We sit down and order two mains and a side. We waited and the side came after about 10 minutes, nice.
And then we sat there for another 30 minutes, after 20 minutes I started staring at the waiter trying to get his attention, I waved, I moved my head to look at whatever direction he was going, stared this man down as he served everyone else, to be honest I think he saw me looking at him once and then just never made eye contact with me again because of no the awkward eye contact! But yeah I was trying to get this one guys attention for like 10 minutes as he went in and out of the kitchen, eventually had to stand up and go to the counter to let them know that our two mains hadn't come out yet. They apologised and said they would go check up on them.
Another 20 minutes goes by and my partner gets her meal, hurray. But to be polite she waited before eating for me to get mine. That never happened, I waited 10 minutes, and eventually a waiter came over to ask if something was wrong with her food since she wasn't eating, when we explained that she was waiting for me to get mine so we could eat together he had a visible look of panic on his face... yup, he lost/forgot my order. I know this because he ran to the kitchen, came back, and asked me straight "What did you order again?"
Please keep in mind, we have been sitting at this place for over an hour now, trying to be as polite as possible and give the staff the benefit of a doubt by not pestering them constantly.
More time goes by and eventually it's 10 minutes till close, they bring out my order in a plastic container and let me know that I'll have to eat it on the go...
My partner and I split the meal when we got home since her food had gotten cold and they wouldn't remake it since it was closing time.
Let me tell ya I really liked this place, but that vegetable rice left a bad taste in my mouth, nobody likes feeling forgotten and I won't be going back anytime soon.
Small nitpicks: I had gone to this place on 6 separate occasions before this incident, and every time they were just playing Adele's 21 album on repeat, I almost heard it twice on the time I was there for 90 minutes, I like adele but man... Smaller nitpick: It didn't taste bad but they gave me the wrong order when they gave me my forgotten order on the go... (Disclaimer this was all quite...
Read moreThis was, hands down, the worst meal I’ve ever had. I got the vegetable soup, which was flavorless. There really was no broth. It tasted like they just threw a bunch of vegetables in dish water. (I’ve made soup from scratch many times before and it’s obvious that they really fouled things up.) The vegetables themselves were mostly cabbage. There wasn’t much variety, neither for the sake of taste nor nutrition. I ordered stir-fried vegetables, which were inexplicably drowning in water when I got them. There was, again, very little flavor and the vegetables were mostly cabbage. Even the tea they managed to mess up by brewing the tag along with the tea bag. It cost me more than $25 for a meal which I just ended up walking away from because eating tasteless, limp cabbage was starting to make me sick.
I’ve had various diets over the years, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian, and I’ve never cooked myself such a terrible meal. I know so much better can be done, even with those dietary constraints — and not at a high cost. So not only do I know that I was given a terrible quality meal, I know I was ripped off in the process.
There are plenty of other places you can get a better meal in this city — even if you have dietary constraints. Don’t waste your money here. I...
Read moreCame here with my vegan friend on Saturday night. I am not vegan or vegetarian and was a bit wary that I wouldn't like the food but will never doubt my friend again 😂 We ordered the vegan fried rice with satay sauce, Deep Fried Suji, Inari and Chicken drumsticks.
The fried rice was so delicious I could have literally eaten that for the rest of my life happily. Suji was a very unique take on what I presume was a fried chicken mimic- it was dusted with cinnamon which I was sceptical about but honestly it somehow all works together and it was so good. Neither of us could eat the drumsticks, big miss there, tasted so bland and almost curd like- wouldn't recommend these. But the Inari were lovely and flavoursome, everything was exceptional except the drumsticks but still giving 5 stars as I'm sure it was just a preference thing.
Service was excellent and very fast- I think we waited a max of 15 minutes for our food? Crazy fast!
Portion sizes were extremely generous and we had an entire container with leftovers.
Best of all- it was so affordable! Will...
