I rarely write reviews, but really felt the need to give a HUGE WARNING about this place: 🚩‼️⚠️ DO NOT COME or order food HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. ⚠️ I think a lot of the reviews here might be fake, because I unexpectedly had a terrible experience here, one which I would not wish upon anyone else 😔.
The sushi was not fresh. We ordered the chicken karaage avocado roll and they gave us a COLD SOGGY karaage sushi roll with NO AVOCADO, and only rudely told us “they ran out so they gave us something else” after it came and we were confused. We were offered nothing in return, and there was no communication on this prior to ordering and paying (WHICH IS REQUIRED UPFRONT).
We also ordered the aburi scallop on katsu prawn roll and the scallops were COLD and TINY, and there was no avocado - again, it was not as advertised in the photos.
The laksa ramen was garbage and broth lacked any depth or flavour, and the noodles were just like the ones you’d get from $1 cup noodles.
The mee goreng with katsu chicken was also really unappetising. The chicken katsu was just like the chicken schnitzel you’d get from woolies and it was soo oily.
As a family that hates wasting food, we couldn’t even bring ourselves to finish the food because it was that terrible. To top it off as well, the staff were also really rude and unapologetic.
I guess there’s a reason why they make you pay first...
Read moreWhat a wonderful hidden gem! I have walked past this shop thousands of times and this time, I finally took the chance to try their Malaysian chicken curry lunch special.
I am simply blown away. First taste of the curry broth, literally brings me back to Malaysia. There is so much depth of flavour in the broth. And the sambal relish, I thought it would be spicy on spice, but it was actually tasteful and slightly sweet. Very clever cooking to have a sweet and savoury pairing like that.
The skill of the cooking was in the chicken. Cooked to perfection, each chicken piece tender and succulent, from breast meat to thigh. Oftentimes you just find a chicken cooked to death in a curry, but not Swan's cooking. She has masterfully plated a traditional bowl of wholesomeness.
The Roti was prepared with careful detail. Slightly charred, crispy and soft on the inside. A sheer delight and accompaniment to the curry to complete a wonderful dining experience. All for a generous $17.5
After all this, Swan comes up to me saying, "that's not my best dish"
So I'm definitely coming back for the other Malaysian delicacies....
Read moreUnfortunately it was a really poor dining experience. Ordered the sunset roll which was very below average and hardly anything in/on it and I mean HARDLY ANYTHING! Wagyu Don that only had 5 thinly sliced wagyu (not even sure if it was even wagyu) and the egg was way too salty and honestly awful. Japanese curry that lacked curry flavour - bland and not quite right, and the ginger tasted off like a mouldy taste (as opposed to pickled ginger which is both tangy and sweet and no mouldy flavour). A terrible dinner. No wonder no other patrons there. Won’t go back. :(
It’s also odd that you would say your business decides to attract genuine customers in your first response which has been since taken down as per below. (Btw, if it wasn’t for eatclub I would have not known or heard of your restaurant and I rather pay top dollar for quality than a discount for an underwhelming and disappointing experience).
Thank you for checking us out through EAT CLUB. Our small local business decided to attract genuine customer whom love our food, and effort. Therefore Allhamdulilah.. FORTUNATELY today is...
