I first stumbled upon Surfers Brewery when a friendly guy named Kye, who was greeting folks at the door, told me about their 'kids eat free' deal and nightly live music, plus a DJ on Thursdays. We decided to give it a shot, and wow, we've been back three times in the last two weeks!
The staff are all great here. The kids were given texters and colouring in, and the staff were very sweet with the kids every time.
The food has been consistently excellent. The first time we arrived early, It came out quick, generous portions, and fairly priced. I had the Wagyu beef burger, and as a burger snob, I can say it was fantastic – perfectly cooked beef, crisp salad, and bacon. My husband had the spaghetti Bolognese. He actually got up to compliment the chef mid-meal, which is rare for him. The kids had nuggets and chips, and the spaghetti. The first night, we fed the whole family for under $50. On our second visit, we were told the head chef Caleb was working, and we were in for a treat. I had to get the burger again, while my husband tried the butter chicken on Kye's recommendation. I stole a bite and was a little jealous! A performer/singer by the name of Helen played, and she was fantastic. Our kids even loved it. On our last visit, I went for the butter chicken, and my husband had the ribs. The butter chicken was so flavorful and did not disappoint, and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious. The DJ who played was talented and had some skills. We all got into it and enjoyed it. I seriously wish I lived closer; I'd be a regular. The food is fantastic, the music is great, the venue is clean and lively and the people are so friendly. Anyone local is lucky to have this gem right on their doorstep." A must try for...
Read moreWhat an utterly unexpected joy in central Surfers. Firstly, let me say if Hurricane's steak house is what you consider "a good steak", don't bother trying BOB - THIS FOOD IS NEXT LEVEL DIVINE. It is not for the uninitiated, as evidenced by the 2-star reviews here... People without a clue that the "complicated" menu they are complaining about is exactly why you would definitely eat here! The fois gras was vegan - that's right, Vegan! - and it was a revelation paired with the most extraordinary pickled fig I think we've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We chose from across the menu (vegetarian and pescetarian) and were delighted with flavour pairings and reimagined classics to elevate the experience. The fried angel hair pasta wrapped prawns were genius! Finally dessert, a Citroen chocolate encased marvel of mousse and mango that melted together for a perfect blend of tart and sweet flavour! So, if you don't know what fois gras is, either be prepared to have your palate expanded by this dining experience or just walk on past and save your time writing a negative review that says more about your culinary ignorance than the truly wonderful cuisine the chef serves here. Staff and table service were also top notch. Oh, and the beers (it is a tap house after all!) were excellent examples of their respective genres. Please please please help make this restaurant the success it deserves in this otherwise barren culinary desert of central Surfers and perhaps we all might help elevate the future dining experiences that make their home on the strip. Not unlike Vegas which is able to mix the trough food sought after by some, with world-class hatted restaurants that find new ways of bringing...
Read moreIn Surfers Paradise for a holiday, wanted a drink and strolled down from the accomodation and came across an absolute GEM! First of all, the atmosphere was impeccable. The corner venues outdoor windows open up to create an open space where the food, laughter and live music drift out into the street. The live musician they booked was talented, played at the perfect volume (no screaming over them and not too quiet). Outdoor tables surrounded by palm fronds and cozy fairy lights. Food came out quickly, considering we ordered on a friday night which was crazy. THE FOOD was phenomenal. Fresh out of the kitchen, flavours were insane and they also accommodated to our extra requests politely and didn’t make us feel like a hassle. The tiramisu is exemplary!!! Beers on tap were nice (didn’t love them all but the brewery caters to all tastes not just ours). AND THE SERVICE! Lovely, kind, enthusiastic and vibrant never failed to make our group feel catered and understood. Kay, Nat and Sofia deserve an extra credit for being phenomenal in every aspect of customer service. Surfers brewery did not disappoint in any way. Truly added a memory to our holiday away. Thank you so...
