I have always had wonderful Bingsu experiences back home in Melbourne. Unfortunately, this place was not one of them. Ordered the following: Oreo bingsu, Matcha Red Bean bingsu, Brownie Bingsu and mini custard puffs
Service: We were the only customers in the whole restaurant. Still, our orders arrived intermittently, 20-30 minutes after ordering. Orders were messed up, ice cream flavours switched. No discount offered for missing and unavailable mochi in our Matcha Red Bean bingsu. Staff are unaware how to properly use the sales equipment as they cannot fully provide all the services available.
Food: A word of warning, do not order the cup size Bingsu, unless you would like a 5cm radius of toppings and a 12cm+ deep cup filled with bland and tasteless shaved ice. Vanilla ice cream had a strong taste of vanilla essence, perhaps they do not purchase high quality vanilla ice cream. The matcha base shaved ice didn't taste like matcha. The matcha ice cream was over frozen, with ice chips in it, making it an unenjoyable experience to eat. Custard Puffs were warm, but custard was barely noticeable. Unfortunately, asian desserts in touristy and small towns such as Gold Coast, have so far been disappointing, and this was only soldified my opinion. If you want a treat to do Asian desserts justice, Melbourne is a much better spot.
Atmosphere: Cute place, nice decorations, air conditioned, all in all nice to sit in.
Spent 58 dollars on 4 people. For the price, I am rather disappointed and would definitely not go again. However, I assume bowl bingsus will taste and look better. 4/10. The staff were sweet and apologetic but the ingredients definitely need...
Read moreMatcha Bingsu (Shaved Snow) (Cup: $15.9, Bowl: $25.9): As a Taiwanese, I’m a huge fan of shaved snow as well as a matcha lover and I can confirm this is just as good as Mango Shaved Snow. On the top, I genuinely enjoy the premium matcha ice cream with some nutty brownies and condensed milk. But afterwards, here comes the distinctive shaved snow, which is quite popular in Taiwan. The flavour turns out as amazing and authentic but more scattered pieces than in Taiwan.
She ran out of mochi at that time and can be replaced with a topping that you like then I go for brownie but also thank her for not putting red beans.
This little dessert shop with several tables is near Chevron Renaissance and not far from the tram station (Cavill Avenue). Most importantly, it’s very nice and passionate of the owner that you get a 10% discount for cash payments. Overall, it’s a...
Read moreI recently visited Little Sweet Cafe, and while the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, I was disappointed with the quality of the ice cream. It was clear that the ice cream had been at melting point for some time during the day, resulting in a noticeably off texture and taste. When I inquired with the staff about the situation, they confirmed that the ice cream had indeed been melting throughout the day but offered no solution or compensation beyond a simple "sorry." It was evident that they were indifferent to the issue and made no effort to address the matter or provide any redemption.
While I appreciate their honesty, I would have expected better customer service and care to ensure quality products. Unfortunately, this experience left much to be desired. I hope they can improve both the quality of their offerings and their customer service...
