El Columpio St Kilda — Restaurant in Melbourne

Lots of room for improvement and I hope they do as it is a great location, some simple tacos and Micheladas by the beach would make a killing if they focus on the basics. Unfortunately they served me completely raw fried fish that I bit into with no apology. F ups happen but it was so undercooked it was dangerous, to not get a simple sorry is unacceptable. The flavours of beef taco were okay but not great. A suggestion of having napkins, Valentina and onion& coriander already on the tables so it’s easy for the one guy taking orders and serving. Like they do in cdmx. Would love to see this place in a year from now be more like a slice of Roma N in st Kilda which I think is what they’re going for but not succeeding yet. Hope...

Absolutely incredible food, made with love by a passionate, skilled and talented Mexican chef using only the best fresh local produce and incredibly fresh seafood. There is so much flavour and you can taste the many ingredients and methods required to make each dish. We are so lucky to have El Colompio serving us the best tacos and Mexican seafood dishes right on the beach in St Kilda! I was very excited to see the new place but the truth is that I left very disappointed. They didn't have the full menu or food and they didn't have drinks.
