Hoo Haa — Restaurant in Melbourne

It was a quiet Saturday night at about 12:15am, not too busy, in fact not busy at all. And the tall, shaved head man behind the bar made a very awful remark about my friends. They ordered drinks and were waiting patiently at the bar when this rude bartender loudly said to another bartender “I’m glad I’m not serving them.” They were not being annoying or loud, however this bartender made a rash judgment about them and for some reason decided to publicly share this opinion. This made my friends feel dejected and disrespected. I understand everyone has opinions but this was incredibly unwarranted, and the fact that he said it loud enough for my friends to hear was really unacceptable. Behind closed doors is one thing but to basically make a drive by comment to my friends was really unprofessional and just plain rude. We are very loyal customers of Hoo Haa and always have a great time when we go there but this time really made us second guess our choice to come to Hoo Haa and buy drinks, and we immediately left. Great customer service! We had one bub in a large group reservation, before it would get actually busy, and one of the guys there were very nice and offered juice watered down for bub which was perfect for her. We were really hard to serve trying to figure out what's happening, but they were very nice and kind throughout! Very large space too! Only stairs, so no pram/stroller service, but it's not a place for bubs in the first place anyway, so there were no high chairs, but they were still very accommodating! Love the chips and dip! Very tasty! Food was good! Had lots of drinks ordered too! Very convenient with paying and ordering food with using QR code. Very smart and handy! It was a little awkward at the start cuz everyone is on their own phones trying to order so everyone was quietly looking down not talking, but easy to order anyway.

Five of us came to Hoo Haa on a Saturday night. Following COVID-19 stage 4 lockdown, restaurants, cafes and hospitality venues had just opened up, so we were excited to make a reservation and go out for some dinner! On arrival, all the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The service was absolutely top-notch, very professional and efficient. We ordered the set menus, and the food and drinks came out promptly. As part of the set menu, we got edamame, mac n cheese bites, cheeseburger spring rolls, bao buns and waffle fries. It was more than enough food, so much that we couldn't finish it all! Definitely worth the price.
