Fabulous wedding catering

Deb, Mark and Matt from Level One catered our wedding offsite at a farm near Albury, and from initial visit to delivery on the day, we were so wonderfully looked after. Matt designed the perfect black tie sit down meal, complete with oysters and canapes for the cocktail hour - our guests said these were the best canapes they'd ever had (and we agree!). Dinner was magnificent, with some of our favourite meals from level one making an appearance (hello crab ravioli!). Matt was so creative easy to work with and worked around a number of dietary requirements as well. On top of that hes an absolute legend and we genuinely enjoyed spending time with him as we planned this wedding.

Mark helped us match wines to the menu Matt designed, and Level One sorted us out for all the wines and champagne on the day - side note, the french champagne Level One sold us was the hit of the day!

Deb oversaw the whole day including timing of meals, ensuring my husband and I were looked after at all times and orchestrating all the other vendors - Deb, you were an angel and I honestly don't think we could have done this wedding without you.

It was so fitting that our favourite restaurant was able to cater our wedding, and every time we go back to Level One for dinner, it takes us back to our wedding day!

Thank you to the whole crew (including the wait crew) for making our day so easy...

Title: A Memorable Anniversary Celebration at Level One Wine Bar and Restaurant

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Level One Wine Bar and Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a glass of prosecco, setting the tone for a delightful evening.

The service was impeccable throughout the night, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel special. For our entree, we indulged in the Baked Brie, which was perfectly creamy and delicious, paired with exquisite wines – the Wignalls 2023 Chardonnay and O’Leary Walker 2018 Watervale Riesling complementing the Brie wonderfully.

For the mains, Michelle chose the Hirimasa Kingfish, which was fresh and beautifully presented, while I enjoyed the Smoked Pork Kassler, which was tender and full of flavor. We ended our meal with a glass of Misha’s 2021 “High Note” Pinot Noir from Central Otago, a perfect finish to a perfect evening. Overall, Level One Wine Bar and Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a fantastic wine selection made our anniversary truly special, heartfelt thanks to Deb, Mark and the team.

We highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or simply a...

My friends and I stumbled upon this wonderful place on Friday whilst visiting Albury. It has only been open 8 days. The owners were there along with their staff. We ordered a wine each and then the owner asked us if we would like to participate in a wine tasting. They hold this every Friday night from 6. We tried six different wines ranging from French champagne to a red. The staff brought out cheese and crackers for the three of us along with some beautiful warmed olives for us to nibble. The chef was showcasing his latest oyster dish and the owner kindly offered us an oyster each to try. They were delicious. We were so impressed with the service and the hospitality. The wines were lovely and they have an online wine business where you can buy the wines from to drink at home as well as drinking them by the glass or bottle in their bar. The decor is relaxed but sophisticated, beautifully setup. Comfy chairs, plenty of tables. Try and snag a window table with the lovely flower boxes and the wonderful view of Dean Street through the open windows. We will definitely be returning to level one on our next...

When you order a baked brie cob loaf with croutons, you don't expect the brie to be the "cob". It's not a loaf and it is most certainly not a cob loaf. Any example of a baked brie cob loaf has the brie inside of an actual cob loaf. The croutons were incredibly hard and I would not be surprised if folks have broken teeth on it. Brie itself wasn't bad, should have been served with a cheese knife as the base had cooled down due to lack of insulation, and thus could not be torn with just the croutons, despite their solid stature. Thrice cooked chips were soft and over salted. Seasonal vegetables were good. Steak was adequate, particularly in light of the price. All other dishes were described by the diners as "average". A booking note had been made but no reference was made to it by the team.

Entry is by stairs only to Level One, which arrive at a long narrow tastefully decorated dining room and bar. A drinks list is on the menu or by perusing the wine rack & fridge for inspiration. The Begin selections were refreshingly original. Potato Rossi with shredded lamb was three portions, tasty if a little under seasoned. Crab cappelletti, 3 larger stuffed pasta ‘hats’, have a thicker dough perfectly matching the sauce. Ordering the Hirimasa kingfish next was probably out of palette order, but it was calling to be tried, and worthwhile. From the Continue selection, the pappardelle with 12 hour braised beef rib was shared and greatly enjoyed. Hosts are friendly, meals arrive well spaced and an excellent wine from the rack made for a really great evening.
