Mad Mex Albury — Restaurant in New South Wales

My friend and I were really excited to grab Mad Mex for dinner, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We had to wait over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged, despite there being three staff members—two in the prep area and one in the back cooking. All of them were focused on serving the one customer ahead of us.

When we were finally acknowledged, I went to order nachos, only to be interrupted by the server asking how long on the queso. I said it was fine and asked for plain melted cheese instead. I then asked for beef filling, but was told there was no beef. In the middle of this, the staff in the back got frustrated with the server, and they began discussing it right in front of us.

To make matters worse, the girl preparing my nachos was so distracted that her hair, which wasn’t tied back, was rubbing all over my corn chips. My friend and I decided to leave instead of finishing our order.

Ordered nachos via app. Wrongly assumed it would be ready but that's fine. Order was for nachos and cheese. Nothing else. Very clear on the docket. They prepared a meal with everything: beans, guacamole, liquid cheese etc. When I told them it was wrong they got angry, banging down the returned order and being rude. They said that they could not melt regular cheese because they didn't have a microwave I said that's fine, I would accept cold nachos and cold cheese and do it myself. Stil fine with that, but to receive half a container of cold nachos and a small scoop of cold cheese for $14.50 is a bit much. When I commented the head person simply said they can't change orders or pricing. Common sense and customer service would suggest a smile, and maybe just a slightly larger amount of nachos and some extra cheese as opposed to a team of very rude staff empowered with nothing but arrogance. I guess I won't be patronising...

Mad Mex Albury boasts a clean, safe and welcoming environment with stellar customer service, and delicious fresh food choices.

Both affordability and food quality are excellent, and I cannot fault the team on their service even if I tried. Meals can be modified to accommodate a range of dietary needs and preferences, with staff boasting excellent knowledge of their products offered.

Mad Mex as a whole also have a great membership program, with an app to facilitate online ordering.

This was my first visit to Mad Mex, but based upon my experience, certainly will not be my last; it has quickly risen to the top of my 'go to' lunch and dinner spots in Albury and I highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for fresh and delicious...
