Billy Lee's Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Northbridge

I recently visited Billy Lee's in Perth, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant being somewhat busy, it was apparent that everyone else was being served before us. The staff's demeanor was nothing short of rude, contributing to an unwelcoming atmosphere right from the start.

Without a reservation, I anticipated a reasonable wait. However, the delay stretched to an entire hour before we received any attention, and that too only came after we voiced our complaints. This neglect was both surprising and frustrating, especially considering that other guests seemed to be receiving timely service.

Moreover, during our extended wait and even after being finally attended to, we were subjected to persistent upselling attempts by the staff. This pressure to order more than what we initially wanted was not only uncomfortable but also felt like a manipulative tactic to increase our spending.

This combination of neglect, rudeness, and aggressive upselling made for a thoroughly unpleasant dining experience at Billy Lee's. It was disheartening to witness such a stark difference in service and hospitality. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend Billy Lee's to anyone looking for an enjoyable dining...

We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed the food. Usually we order and eat the entrees first and then order the mains but last night we ordered it all at once. That was a big mistake. The entrée squid tentacles came out first, but a few minutes later the rice and one of the mains (vegetables) came out. We were annoyed but we didn't complain thinking that all of the mains were on their way. We were then told that the remaining mains would be another 10 minutes. By then we had eaten some of the rice and some of the vegetable main dish. We pointed out that the fried rice and vegetables would be cold before the remaining mains were served. They offered to take away the rice and veg and keep them warm. We asked if we could have fresh rice and veg with the remaining mains but they refused unless we paid twice for them. In the end they took away the fried rice and the vegetables and brought us free steamed rice but we still had to pay for the fried rice and the vegetables.

This was very disappointing and spoilt the night. If they can't get the order of dishes served right then they could at least have provided fresh fried rice and vegetables. The excuse that they were busy is not...

This restaurant is mentioned on uber eats with an option to choose the allergen you are allergic to that food option. To confirm i called in the restaurant to confirm if the specific fried rice could be done gluten free and they said they could and to place my order through uber eats as they do not deliver themselves which I did. And what i received was a battered and fried chicken with my fried rice. I called the restaurant again and they now said that fried rice option could not be made gluten free. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ANYTHING. They do not speak english or understand allergens. It is a farce on uber eats.

Edit: my oder was placed via uber eats on 14/04/2023 at 2.15 am. It was chilli pepper chicken fried rice and a fried egg. I called in the number provided on ubereats that is +61892289388. First call was picked up by a male employee which was prior to ordering and the second call which was after i received my order was answered by a female employee.
