Interesting flavour & texture! Refreshing & vibrant, paired w coconuty sauce, a touch of ๐โ๐ฉ, & ๐ฅฅcrisps + ๐ถ๏ธ on top. The snapper is wrapped into a shape reminiscent of a soup dumpling, but w clear, slightly chewy skin instead ;D
๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐ โจAddictive!! Super tasty charred ๐ฝ ribs, coated in creamy-rich miso ๐ง sauce, finished off w a dash of furikake. Flavour bombz๐คค Heaviness kicked in after a while. Even then, so yumss! ๐โ๐ฉ on the side helps balance out the heaviness, ๐ซต๐ป gotta try this out for yourselves.
๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โจMust-try if youโre ๐ for a vege dish. Featuring snake beans, tofu, & soft ๐ thatโs caramelised w a sweet miso glaze, this shouts UMAMIIIIII๐ Recommend pairing it w Light Years ๐๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ to fully enjoy every bit of sauce. Also paired the ๐ w ๐ช๐ฎ๐ด๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด
Succulent pork belly that has been slow-cooked in a masterstock until super tender soft, melt-in-the-mouth then crisped to perfection!๐ W that sticky ๐ถ๏ธ-caramel sauce & charred ๐
Assemble it yourself!! You know the pork belly is good when the skin is crispy & the fat melts in your mouth + that sauce coating = ๐
Layers of sweet Szechuan miso caramel, followed by slices of ๐, @so_delicious cocowhip, vanilla bean ๐จ, & some ๐ซ shavings on top, all in a crisp buttery tart shell. Rich, salty, sweet & umami flavours w every bite ๐ This stood out from the rest of the desserts & Iโm glad I tried it cause I ๐ซถ๐ป how the flavours turned out hereโ๐ป
In addition to being visually appealing, every drink ๐ธ had an artistic flair, enhancing the overall eating experience, pairing well with their food menu too!

ย ย ย Read moreโญโโโโ Disappointing Experience at a Venue with Potential "Light Years Restaurant" on William Street in Perth makes a strong first impression โ the ultra-modern, casual yet chic dรฉcor suggests a vibrant dining experience, perfect for a long lunch with friends or a stylish evening out. We were warmly greeted by a friendly host and a pleasant staff member who guided us to our table. Unfortunately, thatโs where the highlights ended. Once seated, the experience began to unravel. The entrรฉe selection was underwhelming. The ceviche arrived swimming in a bland coconut cream mixture with little citrus or seasoning. Garnished with slivers of toasted coconut, it fell flat in flavour. Next came the prawn dumplings โ doughy, oddly flavoured, and lacking the lightness or authentic Asian influence youโd expect. After one bite, we returned the dish and informed the staff, who said they would advise the kitchen. The final entrรฉe โ garlic butter scallops โ was more promising. The garlic may have been over-charred, but the bold flavour offered a brief reprieve from earlier missteps. We chose to stay and give the kitchen a final chance. Unfortunately, service continued to disappoint. After asking for a menu, the waitress pointed silently to a chair and walked away. This lack of basic hospitality points to a need for better training in service. Mains were passable but not memorable. Crusted prawns a hoisin type sauce garnished with dill! this is asian inspired, which demands coriander, the bok choy dish resembled what youโd find at a suburban Chinese takeaway. The vegetarian fried rice was drenched in soy sauce, completely overpowering the dish. For a restaurant at this price point, the food and service did not justify the cost. When it came time to pay, there was no mention of the returned entrรฉe โ a clear communication gap between floor staff and kitchen. "Light Years" has visual appeal and the potential to shine โ but it misses the mark on food quality, service consistency, and value. Oh wait! when asked at the end of our meal for coffee, they simply replied we don't have coffee here! In Perthโs growing dining scene, presentation alone isnโt enough. Not a venue weโd return to anytime soon. #PerthEats #LightYearsPerth #RestaurantReview #DisappointingExperience #HonestReview #DiningOutPerth #FoodieFail #PerthRestaurants #ServiceMatters...
Read moreWent here back in May to celebrate a family birthday. The decor is bright and modern, warm and welcoming. There's a long bar at the back with seating, looked good for a quick drink and bite after work. The restaurant seating was comfortably spaced
The service when we were there was good, friendly and helpful without being in your face.
The food was a mix of delightful, and forgettable. I'd rate the food a 3.5 star overall if I could, but I'll give a rating for the dishes we had:
5/10 - GINGER & SHALLOT BAY LOBSTER Dumplings. These looked amazing, but the wrapper was like a thin bao bun, rather than the normal dumpling wrapper. Not bad, just different. The texture was good, but the filling was just bland and disappointing. Can't recommend.
5/10 - Prawn Toast Again, looked great, but the filling was rubbery and no prawn flavour to be found. My daughter took one bite and put it down. Can't recommend.
9/10 - Bao Buns We had the Spicy Korean fried chicken and the Pork Belly bao buns. These were delicious. Staff actually modified the order size from 4 to 3 for us so we didn't have to fight for the last one. Great choice and would have these again.
10/10 - Miso Corn My daughter wanted to try this as she had heard about it from friends. I wasn't sure about this, but it was the surprise of the night. Could eat a bucket of this!
9/10 - BBQ Prawns Pricey, but delicious.
8/10 - Miso Caramel Eggplant Good flavour, a little Chili Tofu as well. Our resident vegetarian was very happy with this one.
While we were dining the table next to us got an order of Fire Cracker chicken. It looked and smelled amazing - definitely one to...
