Songbird Bar — Restaurant in Perth

I'm going to be as fair as I can be.

This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had. Specially coming from such establishment. I regret spending $290 for the quality of food they served.

My partner and I, were sat at the bar closest to the pool, outside area and kitchen. From the beginning, we saw the "Canapes" come out and being distributed anti-clockwise from the kitchen. This meant, that we were the last one's to get any "Canapes" or we just wouldn't get any at all (all the good ones were gone just before staff arrived to the bar). Suggestion, try to distribute evenly; one clock, one anti-clock.

Drinks: (Mocktails) Limited to 2 choices but they were good.

Menu. They offered 8 different Canapes, Luckly, I managed to try 7 out of 8, with one of them being the worst of them all (King Prawns, avocado and horseradish). Didnt try the Potato pikelets because they were never offered to us.

They only reason why I managed to tried the King Prawn, avocado and horseradish was because I asked for it. Their answer, "we don't have any more prawn" (I was there from the beginning and they never came out). They did however, brought out 6 cocktail prawns each on a small piece of lettuce and avocado. That was the nail in the coffin.

The only "Canapes" that just, matched the price were; the scallops, the lamb and the Bao bun (House smoked slab bacon).

Service: Staff were always very polite, energetic and friendly.

Conclusion: Friendly staff, terrible food. Don't waste your money, the food is...

Some of the worst service I have ever received anywhere. The staff were trying to be attentive but could never seem to get it right. No communication between the guy that took our order and the girl that delivered it (I have no idea why this was the system). We placed our order with one guy and only 75% of the the order arrived 40mins later with someone different! Both cocktails and food took 40mins. We asked where the rest was and we were told (after they spent yet another 7mins checking) that that was the full order. I was starving!

Everything just placed on the middle table with no acknowledgement of who ordered what or what was what. Dirty plates never taken away, they just piled up. My friend ordered a sparkling water and asked 3 times over the course of 1.5 hours before it arrived. She was told it was subtracted from the bill and of course it was charged as usual ($12! yikes). Someone jumped into the pool next door and we ended up with pool water on us and in our food (yuk).

Food was only average. Cocktails were (small) nice, but $26! (ow) which would have been fine if they had the service to back them up.

The location is suberb and as I run a company, was hoping to take my collegues here for our end of year dinner, but I'm afraid I won't ever be back. I left pretty astounded how this could happen at somewhere that charges $800 per...

We arranged a large booking and was greeted at the entrance lift by an intimidating bouncer who abruptly stood in front of us as if to say “what do you want”. Highly unwelcoming. What made matters worse is the they kept holding guests up at the entrance, not allowing them through, I had to personally escort each guest as they arrived, indicating to the bouncer there with us, ridiculous waste of my time and interrupted things. Was confused if we were at a classy cocktail lounge or a nightclub in Northbridge. They changed our specific booking arrangement without informing us, when we question this, they just arrogantly said it’s too late anyway; the lounge is booked to someone else. They then informed us we are not aloud to stand inside, never heard of a bar we’re not allowed to stand. We also weren’t allowed to approach the bar and just order drinks, we have to go through the waiter only. It was just a clunky evening with too many rules, regulations and restrictions and we found the workers terribly arrogant and stuck up, not friendly or welcoming at all.
