GO HERE IF YOU WANT A TERRIBLE NIGHT OUT - we went on Monday 18th December. Club York is an excellent venue to start off for your night out. They have happy hour (5-7pm) a great cocktail bar upstairs (unfortunately closes at 7pm). I highly recommend Primi Italian- great service, food was amazing - no one left food on their plate! After dinner we thought we’d just continue talking, drinking at the main bar so the restaurant can clean up and leave we all ordered a standard drink (beer, wine etc) nothing fancy but we couldn’t order a second as apparently they were closed. We chose this place due to the long opening hours listed on website, social media etc. It was a Christmas time catch up as we all work in hospitality and know how stressful busy December can be so we wanted to have some time at the venue. Trading Hours may state 11pm BUT THEY CLOSE THE BAR DOWN AT 10pm!! No walk around to let current patrons know that the bar will be closing soon, no announcement, nothing. When we questioned this they said the pokie area is opened until 11pm. Management, the 2 older male workers were very rude at how they handled the situation, kept muttering under their breath, like we were an inconvenience to them the whole night. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR and walk down to the corner and go to CLUB 75, great bar service, all staff and security were friendly to deal with. The bar staff walked around and announced last drinks then closed and hour later - it’s like they understand how the hospitality industry works!! CLUB 75...
Read moreThe grill is no longer at Club York, which was disappointing. I decided to try the only restaurant available there—the Italian place. I found that the menu online was very pricey compared to what I was actually charged.
My mushroom sauce was mixed with the salad dressing, giving it a very odd and unpleasant taste. Overall, the food was alright for the cheap price. You get what you pay for! I hope customers don't receive the same food for the full price.
My friend, who is celiac, enquired with the chef before ordering about how the food was prepared. When my friend's dish arrived, the waiter confirmed that it was prepared correctly for celiacs. I initially thought it was wonderful that the chef heated a new pot of oil and thoroughly cleaned the cooking area. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a big lie! I would not recommend this place if you have any dietary requirements.
Additionally, cutlery was not set for the table, and after the food was served, the server seemed confused when I asked for cutlery.
Bring back the steak restaurant! At least they put the steak sauce on the side! Rather than on half of the steak and mixed with...
Read moreThey constantly feed pokie players drinks way past the point of intoxication to keep them putting money in the machines. Went to pick someone up from here and management refused me entry as they didn’t want said person to stop playing (I was completely sober and had full ID). Couldn’t contact my friend as her phone was dead so she was left unaware that I had arrived. Not sure how they get away with so many RSA and RCG violations, management are hostile and predatory, not to mention there’s almost always the same group of sleazy middle aged men that catcall women from the verandah. This venue (“venue” is generous considering it’s essentially a pokie den with food) feels like God’s waiting room to hell. Come here if you want to have the lowest...
