I did pay a visit from restaurant upon recommendation from internet. Gotta say, this one provided high-quality seafood menu and yet with super friendly price hat down on that.
For oysters, I think this was the freshest oysters I ever eaten as some of them still have a smell resemble of seawater and did go along with lemon. (I did write a review five days later to monitor myself as I usually got food poisoning from raw oysters but this dish is fresh enough to pass the criteria).
For paella, the flavor is quite okay and I like the crisp of the rice. The most surprising thing for this dish would be the price and quality itself. Imagine for $15, you can eat mussels, prawn, and squid ring altogether with rice. That’s insane.
Lastly, this by far was my favorite one the streamed mussels. The texture of mussels is so juicy and go along with sauce. I don’t know what kind of this sauce as I leave the chef recommends the mysterious sauce to me but I do feel it a mixture of tomato brine, chili, and garlic.
The only complaint would be on streamed mussels which some of them still have bread attached (not sure this is common thing) but overall this restaurant is okay with nice service and...
Read moreFirst visit. Super dupper horrible and terrible experience. Hope i could give -5 stars. Better walk abit to northern part of beach as there were plenty local shops and cafes which serve better food and experience.
Ordered calamari and chips but took 50mins. Should have informed us about the waiting time, but seems they just didnt care about customer experience. Approach the person and asked about the order but just replied the food would come soon. Waiting/eating area was deadly shocking and filthy. Thankfully there was the big rubbish bin which was cleaner than the area. The calamari and chips was ok, crunchy but too salty. Shouldnt spend time waiting the order, otherwise we could have explored eastern beach much more. Tbh, this is my first review with 1 star. Very much not...
Read moreWe had an afternoon walk by the Geelong beach and didn't expect to find this food stall on a boat #ElChiringuitoDeLaRoja. So, we thought it was cute and decided to stop for the food. We saw a few people order the Seafood Paella 🥘, so we tried that and ordered the chilli garlic prawn on the side. It turned out the Paella and the prawns were pretty decent 👍, but the size/look of the prawn dish let me down. I thought the grilled prawns would be the whole prawn with the shell on the skewer and not the sad looking six prawns in a big box. Having the food at #ElChiringuitoDeLaRoja is merely an experience when you go to the beach, but nothing memorable besides that.
