Grounds of Society. — Restaurant in Victoria

Started work opposite this place and was thrilled to find a good coffee shop this morning. Ordered a coffee and almond croissant. This took ages to arrive. Also people were a bit cold towards me. As other reviews state, people who came after me got served before me and those who knew the barista seemed to get faster service. Also my croissant was heated up and left to stand and by the time it was delivered to me, it had become very hard and almost uneatable. I had half a mind to ask for a refund. Terrible service and the croissant was abysmal.

Great place & good location for those who work in the city. Service was good once we had attention but it took them a bit to acknowledge us (I know it was busy so I will put it on that). We ordered an oat latte & it was fine. Smooth coffee but I am personally not a fan of Califia oat as it leaves a watery oat flavour (my personal preference is Alternative Dairy Co. or Oatly).

Maybe if you are a standard milk coffee drinker it would be more pleasant! Definitely worth a visit to determine for yourself, but if you are an oat milk drinker I would recommend...

I work nearby so we sometimes have meetings here, and everyone gets excited because most of us love those breakfast egg n bacon rolls (Tradie Roll) with a coffee or hot chocolate. Good and good value. Flat white w/ no froth is always a flat white w/ no froth, which is another reason I come back (other cafes just don't get the difference between latte and flat white). I also love the decor (there is a dictionary on a high shelf, if I recall rightly, and I collect dictionaries so Im like...
