Kesari Indian Kitchen - Geelong — Restaurant in Victoria

TLDR: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN!

I went to have dinner with some friends, and this is the first Indian restaurant where the waitstaff told me they have no vegan options. Even though there were options (like fried chips) that I thought would most probably be vegan. After extensive discussion/clarification they then said that some entre options (which weren’t vegan) were…. It was quite frustrating to say the least. And it was only when we as a group decided to leave and go elsewhere that the wait staff then told us to wait and they would check if some main options could be made vegan… the only option they came up with was “mixed vegetables”, not on the menu. Which I’m sad to say was VERY salty and oily. I also ordered plain naan, which I would skip, unless you like the taste of cardboard. I also got a masala (potato) dosa, which was ok. However, I have absolutely no confidence that the sauces that came with it were actually vegan. And to top it all off, the quality of the food/service was disproportional to the price!

I wish we had just gone to another restaurant. Needless to say, I will not only not be returning, but I will also advise...

We went in to have a birthday dinner on 2/9. We had a terrible terrible experience. While serving the dinner, the waitress dropped substantial amount of gravy on the table (which is ok, accidents do happen) . She vaguely cleaned it and went off to clean herself. We kept waiting and looking for someone to serve us plates. We were made to sit on a small table , us being 5. She came back after good 5-10 mins and apologised to us to which we said- it's Ok. I then asked her if we can move to a different table as that dirty table was making us very uneasy- half of the table cloth turned yellow with curry. To our surprise she said we only have this table for 5 people!! Only 3 other tables were occupied and rest of the restaurant was empty! She could have easily moved us to another bigger table or perhaps would have joined 2 small tables. We were forced to eat on a super dirty table on our special night. It was a horrible experience. We would want the owners to talk to the staff about the night or check the cameras to see what we had...

I visited kesari with family on Friday around 09:30pm we dine in the food , ordered Gobhi munchurian with gravy and other food . As we were with 2 young kids we could not able to manage to eat gobhi munchurian . We asked the staff to give us a take away container so we can take away .when we reached home my mother who’s pure vegetarian I offered if she wants to eat . When she start eating , she said it’s so rubbery , I think it’s a meat . My mother took out the piece from her mouth and it was chicken . I called straight away Kesari ,they said it’s impossible, they said our owners or manger will give you a call 📞 tomorrow morning. Today is Monday and it’s gone I haven’t received the call . Why this happened?? 3 full days gone -no call no apology.i have saved your take away container with the food still in case you need a proof also the video I made it . As there was no only single piece in it .

Don’t promise if you can’t complete it . I am very very upset...
