The Aviary Perth — Restaurant in Perth

I went there last Saturday, and as expected it was busy as always. For that reasons I made a reservation for 4 people hours earlier. Two of my mates had never been there before, so I convinced them to go there cuz I really enjoyed my time there every visit. Unfortunately this time was different. Me and my partner arrived first to be sure about the reservation. The first surprise was that for some reason they didn’t have organised my table, and was told to me that it was an Honest mistake, and they wouldn’t have another table to offer me once the place was very busy, the very nice manager offered me and my guests complementary drinks as apologies which would be fine. I had worked on hospo business before and I completely understand that mistakes can happen sometimes. And I would find okay to find another place if the following haven’t happened. Me and my friends went to the bar to grab the drinks and ordered couple fries while we were deciding where to go next once we would not be able to have out meal there. Firstly the chips took at least 30 min to find us, and just because we asked twice at the bar. Secondly and what made us more upset, a big group arrived, and the place was still busy, but I don’t know from where, they bring 3 tables and many chairs from some storage, and build a nice table for the group. Held our xmas work-do at The Aviary. About 25 people. We had a private area to the right of the bar sectioned off all to ourselves. Although a cool night and situated on a rooftop, this area is still undercover and therefore we weren't cold at all. For $50 a head we had 6 -8 large trays of hot finger food brought out to us in intervals. We bought our own drinks at the bar, despite there being a card on our tables to scan and order drinks and have them brought to us - but it didn't work, which was disappointing. Even when we told staff, they said it was switched off (why???). Beef sliders, zucchini sliders, mini aracinis, nori rolls, mini zucchini balls with Mayo, mini corn balls with avocado...the food was delicious and we couldn't eat it all there was so much. The service staff were friendly and smiling. My only complaint is the volume of the music in our function area and how hard it is to talk/hear with it so loud. In a function area you shouldn't have it as loud, so people can talk (I'm not saying have it soft.. I understand it's a pub and music is entertainment). Overall, very happy with our...

Myself my girlfriend and another friend went in for a few drinks on Saturday the 4th of August. Night was great up until the point where a security guard told me I had too much to drink and to go get some water, even though I knew I was fine not to cause a fuse I went and drank the water 2 glasses of it. Around 5 mins later a different security guard came up to me and said to me that I was intoxicated and was kicking me out, when I questioned him to what was the reason or action that he saw that made it look like I was intoxicated he said I was "stumbling when walking". I was in no way intoxicated I had had a few drinks which I am well able to handle. As a result this ruined our night and after spending a good some of money on drinks between the three of us I thought this was really bad form from the security guards which to me represents the entrie place if that's the kinda of people you want to employ. From this I would go back again or recommend it to anybody even though had this not of happened I would of liked to go back and recommend it to anybody wanting a nice...
