The Coffee Club Café - 140 William Street — Restaurant in Perth

This is the second time I’ve been to this location and it is the second time I’ve received full cream milk as opposed to oat when asked. I approached the young lady at the front politely (since I too am a barista😉) and asked if there was a chance it could be remade. I would like to state that I was very apologetic for THEIR mistake and I was really cool, calm, and collected about it, because I know what it’s like to work in the industry. She sincerely apologised and informed the older man who was making coffees during the shift 4.30PM (23/1/2023) and as opposed to simply replacing the mistaken drink, he proceeded to loudly complain that he had indeed used the right milk. After carrying on, he proceeded to wave the oat milk in front of me and state that “this is the oat milk we use” repeatedly. Had I been given an opportunity to speak, I would have been able to say the texture of the milk tasted like full cream but whatever. I am very aware of my body and the difference in stomach aches caused from a good quality coffee bean (which this is not) and one caused from consuming lactose that I literally cannot have due to high intolerance. Lastly, as opposed to simply apologising for the mistake and remaking the drink correctly, he proceeded to quickly make a coffee (that didn’t even have the extra shot I paid for) and plopped it at the front saying “it will taste the same as before”. At this point I was incredibly shocked by this man’s reaction that I could only respond with “ok”.The man went as far as making the girl smell the coffee to back him up, to which there was clear uncomfortable hesitation. The girl on the till looked so embarrassed with the interaction. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and product, avoid honestly. Most watery, non flavourful coffee you’ll have made by someone that’s obviously lost their passion for their job and is stuck doing something they hate for a living. Obviously this is a reoccurring problem if the other staff members were not surprised by his little outburst. If someone with this much arrogance is allowed to put customers in such uncomfortable and unnecessary positions because of a lack of accountability, this store should re evaluate their staffing choices, because quite frankly, I felt unsafe and afraid to drink the coffee he added water to, so I ended up binning it. Atrocious service received this last Sunday. Was out and about with my husband and decided to drop in for a beverage and light meal. I ordered a soup which sounded quite nice and he ordered a quesadilla type dish. Our beverages (tea and flat white came) but my soup arrived maybe 35-40 minutes later and it was completely cold. There was no sign of my husband's food order. The cafe was maybe half full so it wasn't a big crowd for staff to deal with. I sent my husband to the counter to inform them that my soup is cold and to ask where his order is. He was passed by several staff over at least 5 minutes of standing at the front waiting for acknowledgement. He returned and told me once of the staff took my soup to the kitchen and didn't say anything more about his order. After another 5 minutes - this is getting close to an hour of waiting around for these low prep items, I got up and demanded our money back on the food items. The manager on duty could care less about keeping us waiting for the refund and forget about any good will gesture of saying "hey we really messed up how about we comp your coffee and tea". I'd like to add that at no point were we rude or disrespectful to any staff there - and I am 37 weeks pregnant. Shame on all staff and management all around. I was at that point faint from not having a snack. I will never again go to any Coffee Club location as I will forever associate their brand with this disgusting service. Came here around 3pm but still our food was served in a disposable plate and cups so no valid reason for it cos it's still early and we're not the last order for them to serve it like that, we also noticed that they served the other dining in customers in a normal plates and coffee cups. They even gave us the left over drink from the can that they used in the raspberry spider which I think is good cos no wastage of the drink but also bad cos it's not very presentable. Ordered mango smoothie that tastes cheap like just normal mango juice in a smoothie form. Cheesecake was so so very normal nothing special and the raspberry spider is just that can of drink and topped with an ice cream. Not very worth it for it's price. Will never dining in here again.
