Hi ,
We live in Finland for past 7 years and had been travelling in europe a lot. Never seen such a rude behaviour of the lady who was there ( may be she is the owner i guess ). First of all we were waiting for more than 10 mins and no one turned to our table to just see what we need. We had to go to the reception and ask for someone to come and take the order though no one was there in the restaurant.I dont know what is this even in terms of hospitality. Then we ordered papad and it came without any sauce or chutney which is served in any indian restuarant by default (all over europe too.) When we asked them they told it will be served like that only in India 😃 and here we have to ask for chutney ..Then I asked for chicken briyani ( usually every restaurant asks what's the spice level as there will be children as well in the families) .She told me briyani means its spicy , we had to explain her why we need less spicy version too 😁 which every restuarant understands and keep the option of spice levels for children. Then she said she can make less spicy briyani too. I dont know how suddenly she made up her mind to make less spicy .My daughter tatsed it and said it smells rotten. Then we also smelled its the same very much rotten smell and tasted bad.We said we will pay for what we had and you can cancel rest of the order. We paid for papad and left.. All responses from them were treating us very low ..Not recommended..May be they delete this review and offend it..but this is our honest review ..I never write like this to anyone .Honestly I felt very bad how they treated and...
Read moreThis is not an Indian Restaurant. This is just another restaurant amongst many others. Honestly I would have given a (minus) rating it that was an option.
Overall Experience - The worst experience I've had in 4 months at any restaurant in Salzburg. Extremely overpriced. Not worth paying so much for the food. I went to the restaurant to eat a very specific dish (Dal Makhni). The person gave me a menu of 2 pages with literally only 10 items total - No Dal Makhni or any veg dishes for that matter. I had been craving for indian food, so as an alternate, I ordered a Veg Biryani. Moments later, another Indian Family came and I overheard them ordering the dish I wanted. I turned around to see, they had a totally different menu, much much longer. Never imagined, being an India, I would be treated like this in an Indian Restaurants out of all the places.
Food - Low quality rice used with really no taste at all. I literally asked while ordering to make the dish like normal indian food. The Biryani by tradition is served with Raita and here I had to pay another 5 euros for a small portion of Raita (again with no taste)
These 2 dishes costed me 20 Euros and an experience that made me...
Read moreDo not come here as you'll likely never be able to get Indian food elsewhere and have it meet your new found expectations.
The atmosphere was very nice and peaceful, their staff are personable and welcoming. It is decorated with portraits and ornamented, very pleasing to the eye. The different aromas of food and spices filled the room, I immediately got hungry upon entry.
I was immediately served drinks of my choice and even given recommendations when I asked. The service was quick once it got to ordering, I was constantly scratching my head as to how such fresh ingredients were out together so quickly, then quickly sinking into the feeling of bliss the taste of the food induced. I lamented the end of this experience greatly and was sad that I had no more room to stuff my face with more of the goodness in front of me. I was offered Schnaps afterwards by the host, and I have to say, it tied it all together. She even gave me recommendations for upcoming travel to Wien.
The price is well within reason, and I regret no penny spent on that goodness. I would like to extend my gratefulness to the chef and wish them nothing but good fortune...
