We stumbled across this restaurant our first night and it was an amazing find! It was fine dining caliber food in a casual setting. We enjoyed our first meal so much we came a second night. The first night we did a la carte and the second we did the “chef’s surprise” menu. They have home made lardo that is served with bread that is really tasty. The chefs are hunters so there was interesting game meat served both nights. The service is very friendly. A lot of locals seemed to be patrons. As another reviewer commented, smoking is permitted in the restaurant but that seemed to be common in the Allstadt. First night: pumpkin soup, goose liver 2 ways (seared and pate), gamskruken pilze, walnut ice cream. Also pictured is the homemade lardo. Second night: (chef’s surprise) sautéed chanterelles with cured venison arugula salad, tortellini pasta with mushroom, onyx with root vegetables and mashed potatoes, apricot stuffed crepes

Marc's in Salzburg was the dining highlight of our visit to Austria and Southern Germany. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I wish I had a restaurant like this near me.

We had a great experience here after 5 days in Europe! Best food we’ve had, really nice, un-rushed service and overall great vibe. Check this gem out!

We stumbled on to Marc’s by chance after been rejected from a couple of other restaurants (no reservation no honey). Thankfully Christian (chief waiter) let us in and sat us at the bar (chef’s table for me and my wife) and the experience was perfect! The menu is contemporary Austrian cuisine with a farm to table and head to tail philosophy.

We took the “surprise” menu which from what we were told changes from day to day. We had 5 plates, first one with small shrimps in vinegar (very good), second blood sausage with lentils (perfect!), third one ham in pumpkin oil with balsamic (really good but lacked some acidity or/and spiciness), fourth one porchetta (pork) with cabbage, dumpling and a sauce with carrots (perfect mix and delivery of a redesigned classic dish) and finally fifth a plate with liver and kidney with potato puree and baked apple and cranberries (very very tasty even though the liver could have been cooked a minute less). Marc even offered us outside the menu (for free) some amazing rib eye (see the photos)!

In overall it was an excellent experience! Bravo Marc and a big thank to you...
