Haas & Haas is the first in my list of specialty tea houses in Vienna I've visited thusfar and I must say that I've not been disappointed at all! :) Food-wise, I'd say Haas & Haas is all right, and the true star is their selection of teas. I started with the Viennese Rosengard, which is a green tea with pesch notes. The tea was so lovely that I'd decided to try a second one --- the Figs & Rose tea --- which was beautiful as well. Both are teas which are naturally sweet without any bitter notes and, to my surprise, their flavours were more intense than their scent. Both are not classified as luxury teas in the menu and come in at EUR 5.90 a pot.
Aside from the two teas, I got the English breakfast set (which has two courses --- the platter with toast and a second course with a scone --- that costs EUR 13. The English breakfast doesn't follow the traditional English breakfast (which has baked beans and mushrooms and no fries from what I recall). The second course of a scone was rather nice with the mascarpone although I can't help but wonder how much better it'd be with clotted cream.
The ambience of Haas & Haas was fabulous as well. I had the pleasure of enjoying a quite morning in the inner courtyard facing away from the hubbub of Stephansplatz.
I really liked the experience there and I'd definitely return to try more of their...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate our bro’s birthday.🎉
The atmosphere is really good during the summer where you can hear the birds sing and flying around . The grapes trees are rounded around the restaurant which makes you feel like you are within the wine yards.
We have looked through the menu and noticed that the only food may taste good is the fried Zander Fish. The fish is fresh but the food is so la la / nothing extraordinary/ special.
The rest food is the fusion from Chinese and Indian food . Our relatives ordered the Indian Curry Chicken and Chinese Noodle. I suggest if you wanna have an authentic Chinese or Indian Food - just go to the authentic chinese or noodle stand and authentic Indian restaurants- they cook better.
We ordered the Afternoon Tea set costs euro 21,10 and the teapot from euro 6,30–7,90. The only bread I like is the English scone bread . The rest is really simple and nothing extraordinary. If you wanna have the towel cakes for afternoon tea - I would recommend the Cafe Sacher since they are specialized for cakes !
Euro 252 for 6 persons - euro 42/ person… It is a one time life celebration/ experience .
If you like good ambience and wanna sit down for a nice tea within city - you can come and enjoy. They are...
Read moreThis establishment certainly has its charms: a tasteful decor, an inviting ambiance, and an obvious appeal to the more affluent members of our community. It's easy to see why it's a popular haunt for the well-heeled, with its air of sophistication and exclusivity.
However, as much as I appreciate a well-designed space, I believe the essence of a coffee shop lies in the quality of its coffee. Regrettably, on this front, the place fell short of expectations. The coffee served was not up to par with the high-end image the establishment projects. It lacked the depth of flavor, the rich aroma, and the smooth aftertaste that true coffee aficionados seek. This discrepancy was particularly stark given the hefty price tag attached to it.
In conclusion, while this place might be a nice spot for the affluent to socialize and flaunt their luxury, the overpricing doesn't justify the mediocre coffee quality. It's a place more about the scene than the caffeine, which might work for some, but as a coffee lover, I left feeling somewhat...
